I understand my dad and me looked at a 78 short step and after we found out he had owned it 20 years ago i wanted it so bad even though he primered over most of my dads paintjob and swapped the i 6 for a 350 it still had his buckets and radio but it was too high for me

Ok, not to sound like a hard ass, because if I was in your position id want the truck back too. But let's assume for a minute that this does turn out to be the truck. If you can't afford gas to drive 30 minutes away, then how are you going to be able to buy it? The things you want to sell don't do you any good until they're sold. Have you thought about that?
