I agree and I think I'll put them on the Grill. LOL, must be a true Okie...

Here is a picturer of the upper a-arms, one done and one not. A buddy of mine took these and the other parts to media blast them for me.. All it needs now is paint.

Re: The MONEY PIT

No I wouldn't do that in an oven you're going to cook food in again. The BBQ would probably be OK since you can air it out good. It is a good idea to cure this paint too as directed. In my experience some high heat paints will have a tendency to allow rust to form if it hasn't been temperature cured.

Basically, is my wife going to kill me if I try it?

Re: The MONEY PIT

Thanks for the feedback.. I chickened out and took the paint back and got some Dupli Color Caliper paint that does not require baking. Also came across another issue with the lower a-arm shaft and have a question posted over in the suspension section.

Here are a few pictures,

Re: The MONEY PIT

Thanks Alan..

I also picked up a '85 power booster for the brake conversion. I tried getting a prop valve but they want $50 bucks for it, went to 2 other salvage yards and they wanted the same. What happened to used parts price, I can get a brand new one for $56? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Below are the before and after, got to keep Joe Happy...

Re: The MONEY PIT

Thanks guys.

I did get a prop valve from a local U-Pull It for $6.95. After looking at the power booster, I might need to head back to the drawing board. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Re: The MONEY PIT

Well, after 4 months she's back on the street. I ended up going with a CPP booster, prop valve, and MC. I still need to get a front end alignment done and then I'll put together a list of all the parts I used.

Looking good drogers. I used the same booster and master cylender for a year now with no complaint. Good to see you back on the road.

Re: The MONEY PIT

We'll I'm back on the road. I did a write up on my disc conversion adventure, [http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?t=390446] if you're interested.

My next project is putting new coils and shocks on the back and putting the sway bar kit on. Hopefully it doesn't take me 3 months.

Below is a picture of the sway bar kit I got..

Re: The MONEY PIT

It's been awhile since I've posted or even done anything on the truck. Been enjoying it not being in pieces in the garage. I've also been busy doing yard work and some minor home improvements.

Getting ready to maybe take it to my first car show. Here are a few before and after pictures of the hood. Just did a wash, light sanding, and a coat of Hammerit.. I need to get busy on the body and the interior but can't get motivated to do it.
