Re: LIL ERV the 50

Read through this entire build post, and I gotta say, I'm impressed. And, I like many of the choices you've made - wheels, engine, gauges, paint color. I built a model years ago and painted it that very same color. I said, someday I was going to have the same real truck as that model. Well, I got my truck now, but I went in a different direction with it for this first build. My plan is to do it again in another 10 years or so, full frame off just like what you have here. Right now mine is green and yellow/orange but someday it will be that beautiful blue color!

Re: LIL ERV the 50

So today I set the new glass in the frames with setting tape. I did a small how to on this, hope this helps someone.

The new tape has a cloth face and a rubber back with a peel off liner, there is no adhesion on the tape. Place rubber side on glass and use electrical tape to hold it on.

Cut small notches at corners as you go around the window.
Slide window in frame, It may be snug so tap easy, I put mine on a bath towel.

Leave the tape on it's so thin its fine.

Assemble then take a razor blade and trim around the frame and your done.

Re: LIL ERV the 50

So today I put the wind lace in, not a fun job so after trying dish soap,Vaseline,WD40 I found the perfect stuff to use. The goop that electricians use to pull wire. Menards has it and it worked perfect.
Be liberal in its use you cannot use too much.
Goop the back of rubber then do the tracks and outside of tracks.

I have used that to pull cable, good idea!
Be sure to wipe up the excess before it dries, seems like it desolves with water

Re: LIL ERV the 50

So today I finished running the fuel and return lines.
I put a large canister filter in back and a 40 micron in front of carb.
I ran aluminum lines down the frame rail.

Getting closer, however the hyd clutch does not engage far enough to shift. Going to have to look for a longer throw. But it sounds sweet!
