Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
When I ordered everything, Dave (?) told me I'd get the piece/pieces I'd need to make it all work. Maybe that's why it's taking so long.

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
The lower shock bar for tubular arms is also different than the one you'd need for stock arms. I agree, he should have asked... but ..

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
I told him which arms I'm using. Ooh, I'll be upset if they don't fit after 8 weeks of waiting. Just saying...!

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
I just read most of your thread. I got interested in yall's conversation about the Porterbuilt stuff because I have all that stuff on the way now. I'm hoping it all fits too, but I did get their arms, so I should be ok. On yours, it looks like the lower end of the track bar will work with the CPP lower bracket you installed early on. IDK if that's still on there.

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
Just got home from Good Guys... It was phenomenal...HOT, but phenomenal!
I bought some painted bumpers (I want to shave the holes and fit them up tight to the body and paint them silver) at the swap meet. I bought my SS brake lines, 10' of 5/16" & 3/8" SS fuel line, and all the SS clamps and such for all the lines from Inlinetube.com at a GREAT discount at the vendor alley. All in all...I think it was well worth it! |

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
Finally, after sending Porterbuilt another email last Wednesday, I got a ups quantum ship email (nothing from Porterbuilt) that my parts are finally coming...11+ weeks later. I wouldn't be upset except that I was told 3-4 weeks and the correspondence/ customer service on the follow up SUCKED!!! Pieces had better be amazing because the service is aweful.

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
It goes without saying that the parts will be amazing, they are worth the wait, consider that unless you already have all the money and parts to finish the entire project right now and you are done with everything else just sitting waiting on the Porterbuilt parts it didn't really set you back at all.
I know you are excited to get the parts but you wont be dissapointed with them. |

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
My last email to PB must have lit a fire, because I received 2 boxes of long overdue parts from the brown box truck today! Whoop Whoop!!!! Don't mind the NX bottle, that's for another one of my vehicles unless I can sell it...

Re: '70 GMC SWB Money Hole
Notches are in... Crossmembers are in... Jeep FI gas tank is "sorta" in... Brake lines are run... New fuel lines are done...!!! Now I have to put the CCP front upper/lower control arms and tubular trailing arms (with a stray rearend) installed so I can run airlines for the bags.
I *****ed & moaned about the service at Porterbuilt, but DAMN that boy builds some super nice pieces!!!! I really wanna buy a touring dropmember now. Posted via Mobile Device |

But they usually sell quick here on the board. Get that order placed! Ha. I think PB production times are going to pick up with his new waterjet and press brake that he just recieved.

I had my GMC around 7.5" drop in the back.. you can get pretty low on Nates CNotch.
I don't want to say I told you so,.. but. I seem to recall saying its worth the wait. Posted via Mobile Device

After much contemplation, I think I'm going to sell the CPP front control arms and such and buy the PB touring dropmember, control arms, rack & pinion and the other assundry pieces/parts. What to do... What to do!?!?
