Re: Project: 1972 K30 Crew Cab Duramax

Thanks guys! I have been busy getting the patches installed around the back cab corners on that truck floor and installed a new rear cross member under it. Sandblasted the rust underneath it,just to know what was under it. I coated it with etch primer followed by another primer, than textured rock chip guard and paint. I didn't want to replace any of it in the next 15 years again. Then I went ahead and installed lower pillars and cab corners before putting in the floor, so I could grind down the welds from the inside first. The floor has another donor hump extending from the center to continue the look of the the low hump throughout the cab. Hopefully it will also give me an extra inch or two for clearance to for the transfer case if I need it. It will also act as a way to hold up the 2nd carpet kit in the center of the floor more like factory. Finally I added pieces left over from the burb floor I cut out to make the burb floor flow into the 2nd floor. So lots of work before getting to this point. I promise I'm not slacking!

Re: Project: 1972 K30 Crew Cab Duramax

Anyone saying your slacking should go try one. I've only cut a burb down and put a cab rear on before. Then sold the project. These are definitely labor intense. Haha

Re: Project: 1972 K30 Crew Cab Duramax

Well, it wasnt Bronchitis or a Allergy keeping me from the shop. Checked into the ER on Memorial day and found out i had Atrial Fibrilation from a bad heart valve. I will be having a second open heart surgery to replace my valve at the end of the month. So that means I have to take it easy between now and then. Progress will be at a stand still for most of the summer until i recover. Take care guys, Trevor

Hi Trevor, I'm new to the forums here. I must say that you are a Stud Fabricator..

I'll be praying for you. And I can't wait to watch your work continue in the next few months.
