Guess you know me well, its taking everything I got not to order it! All my extra money is going into the new shop, so the front will have to wait. I've got two weeks left before the move, hoping to get a lot done, well see.

So whens the nova gonna make a pass, and I hope this shop you speak of is gonna be at your house. Building a shop at the house was the best thing I have ever done!

Re: Maggie's Custom

Got a few updates, but once again I didn't get everything on my check list crossed off. I had Captin Fab overnight a bracket for the brake booster Friday, got all the fittings I needed, but forgot brake line!! That was the first mistake of the weekend. I got the front brakes installed, hooked up the e-brake, after I swapped the steering column (not wired yet) installed the master cylinder (still have to lengthen the push rod) made rear brake lines (bought them eariler in the week) than I started fooling with the bed!

Re: Maggie's Custom

I started on the raised bed floor, I welded on some 1x1 angle and the beds mounting points to strengthen the bed, than I welded in some 2x2 angle for the new bed floor. I than put the bad back on than bolted it down solid so I could finish my bed floor.

Re: Maggie's Custom

My thought was to chop the tubs down in order to figure out where the center angle iron would go. I did the first tub than realized mistake number two! I did the old measure once cut twice on the first tub, it came out bad ass! but killed the rest of my day, I cut it back apart, rewelded it, checked the fit than called it a day!! I'm tired!!

as usual looking good. is your column out of a 67-72 truck?if so we have the same one. wondering if there were any issues with install.im thinking it will just bolt in?and did you go with a later model power steering box?Man I wish we could move along as fast as you are. unfortunately we are mired in rust repair.love your project

I really can't wait to drive this car, I sold a 240z (with a small block chevy) and a 98 Camaro to build this car, its been awhile since I've had something fast!

The column came from a early 80's GM box van (I got from the junk yard), I had to weld a nut plate to the bottom of it for a mounting point, I bought a steering column with a steering wheel from craigs list as our truck had a grant steering wheel. I used the same steering box, I took the shaft out of the old column and put it in the box van one (non tilt for now). Later I plan on putting power steering on the truck (Got one of Captin fabs brackets!)

Captin Fab sent me a pm telling me I don't need both brackets on my master cylinder so I'll get the CPP one removed tonight! (I should have known better lol!)
Thanks again for the comments!!!

Just now finding this...AWESOME truck; you nailed the stance and the dish on those back wheels was worth the wait.

Also, as a VW salesman by day, I love your air-cooled stuff

I'll take some more pics of the Nova soon and post them up!! I got this car from the original owner, she was 95 years old and still driving it!! Her daughter
took it away because she didn't think it was a good idea.
