Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks

So had to cut out the rest of the floor in order to get the bottom part of the firewall in place, it is kinda a pain but now its all done and im pretty happy with how it turned out.

So to fix the rocker boxes and reinforce them for the floor i put a 1x3 1/8 rectangle tube parrallel to it for the floor to slide into place and the body mount cross bars to weld to. Should be pretty stout.

So next i cut the rest of the floor out, and slid the new floor in, no bracing yet so it sags pretty bad just wanted to make sure the track idea would work, plus wanted to see what it would look like!

So then it was time to trace out the piece for the bottom of the firewall as well as the kick pannels and get them put in so that i could burn em in to there final resting place!!!

Got the top of the firewall all boogered together and then got all the little panels to contour the inside of the kick pannel placement, capping off the air vent.

Psh no way! Robs power!! Haha the burb used to have a vintage air kit in it but i ditched it and now all you gotta do is roll down the windows speaking of windows i found a kit to eliminate the little vent window so you can just run a one piece window. I was pretty dang stoked about that.

yes, those kits are awesome. I only asked because you closed off the side vents! Mine doesn't have A/C (because of money, not the power aspect. lol) and those little side vents are my best friend.

Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks

So my body mounts are just competition engineering hard poly universal body mounts. I used 4" grade 8 1/2 bolts and welded the bottom side washer to the head of the bolt. The reason i did that was so i could make a piece of tube that would attach to the chassis with a bolt sticking up through the floor. So there will be a nut and a washer coming through the floor. The benefit of that is that any time since the head is welded to the tube, i just have to tighten the nylon bolt and its done. Also ill know if the body mounts are getting loose by looking down at the nuts in the floor. Now heres some pictures to explain my idea.

Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks

So ive been really busy, it was my birthday, wife and i's anniversary, and i went to the NHRA drags in Sanoma. However i have some great news, my truck is offically sponsored by Monster Energy. They are providing me with a vynil wrap as well as a booth spot at SEMA this year. Very excited, humbled and blessed!!!
