I bet because he lost continuity of the floor due to the hump. sure is going to stiffen it up back there. should be no squeaks coming from that floor
it does look like he is going to put a metal floor in it as he has removed the spacing for the plywood. the 3/4" plywood would sit on top of the braces and go under the lip of the inner side panels that now rest right on the cross braces

Sweet ride, I am always impressed with you guys out of Country that build American iron, I sold my 72 Ford Ranchero GT,to a guy in Germany he said it would be one of a kind and he was going to pull his race car with it

it sinks very slow , because i had two valves that would be 1/4 open!

You have a very cool build that is made that much cooler being that it is being built in Germany. You can't just call your parts guy and say that you need one of these or those and keep going on it. A missing part for you must be an exercise in patience.
