anyway I need to get a 20A circuit ranned in my garage, but I know it's me and not the welder responsible for the bird droppings, I shall improve

We're fine. Our county has 30 cases so far. Went shopping for food yesterday and it was eerily quiet on the roads for a college town, no school, both colleges are closed.

When I went to Wendy's on Friday to get hamburgers for us for lunch I was surprised how normal the roads looked, same traffic as always, but again we're Californian's ie better than everybody else, ha ha

the line for the Wendy's drive through was very long though and their parking lot was not designed for such an event

my wife has to go in to work since as she puts it "their department feeds Amercian" LOL

Agreed. Looks like it would still be an effective exfoliator too.

Did you want to increase the strength at the shock mounts or change the geometry? Whatever the case, the final result looked good and clean. Where did you get the brackets?

The stock shocks mounted outside the frame rails and with the Second Gen Camaro rear end there was not enough room to run them in stock location as the they would hit the inside of the wheels, so I made my own brackets.

I have that same mig, got it from a buddy at Airgas. Seems to work well for me too.

Awesome I got the demo floor model from Matheson for about 50% off with helmet, gloves, and a tank of gas, it's nice and heavy isn't it with proper metal guts not plastic shiet. Can you please tell me what your settings are for welding 1/8th thick square tubing for example, I just can't get it dialed in to give me that "concave" bead looking weld... UPDATE: one month later, figured it out, I just had to increase my wire speed by one notch from a 2 to a 3 setting! but at the time I kept twisting the wrong knob (ie the volts) like an idiot.

On 1/8" I'm running D at about 3, with .035 wire on thicker steel and on the sheet metal I'm on C at ~2.5 with .023 wire.

I keep fiddling with the settings trying to get a better feel for it, but I keep going back to these two.

Oh, and I am by NO means a good welder, but I'm learning and I'm liking it.

I can't thank you enough. Yeah I bought a demo unit from Matheson I think or some other small specialty outfit, and their unit actually has sharpie marks on 2 for wire speed and D for voltage! that with .025 wire works great on sheet metal.

Currently I think I am running only .030 wire on the 1/8th brackets cause I think that's all Home Depot had at 10pm one night when I ran out, ha ha.

Are you running on 120 volts? Do you have a 20 amp circuit? I keep tripping my 15 amp one LOL

Yes, running 110 V on a 20 amp circuit. When the welder is plugged in, the only thing on that circuit is the welder. That was the way I set up the shop.

a while back I got that rollpan in the organic paint booth and gave it a coat of high end cheap primer, lol

it's held on with screws for now (pronouned: "ever") ha ha and I like it it's probably good for another 20 hp, what do you all think

nothing to write home about, just liberated the 45 lbs horn from the "core support" in order to have more access to mounting yet another radiator and fabricating the lower radiator core support crossmember

I just removed one of those horns too. Couldn't get it to do anything and I needed the room anyway.
