Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks
They gave me a hood that had a really crappy mold. It didn't line up in any way and the construction was horrible. The top, rear of the hood where it meets the cowl panel was 3/4" high on one side and 7/8" on the other. Once brought down, The mold was so thin, light could be seen even with the blacked out underside. They did a crappy job of blocking it also. And they had used two different primers on the top because it appears that they noticed a particularly crappy section and attempted to fix it. Everytime we sanded it down and blew it off more pinholes appeared which had to be drilled/filled. It's a crappy job in all aspects and I expect that the hood used for the mold was atleast half rusted out. I'll never do business with them again. Check out my thread to see some pics of all of the screw ups and work that we put in.

Sounds like those jokers are related to each other! Brothers maybe! Yeah, my hood came in the same shape. I will post pics later. Looked like was used, or a reject from the QC line if they have one. Well I guess I will keep my bed and just make it look better. Not really happy with the mini tubs. We will see. I want the bed to look awsome. I'm going to have the wood done right and unique!

Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks
Sounds like one of the best ideas I've heard. You could probably do some thinner metal in the rear. Roll pan instead of bumper, maybe pull out a cross sill or make them lighter. Weld in a flat medium gauge steel across the rear where the tailgate sits. Little things like that. Depends on what all you're wanting on it.

Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks
Well its got:
347ci LS1 Forged roatating assembley Ported factory heads 243/250 @ .050 cam Thise passes had an LS6 intake with a factory smoothed and ported TB Had a factory mechanical water pump Underdrive crank pulley Manual steering box Power brakes 4L80E trans 4,900rpm converter 3.73 30" x 14.50 ET Street (going through the traps in second gear with the converter locked aprox 7,100rpm) Being all steel, the truck weighed in a 3,840 with me in the seat and 1/2 tank of gas. The front suspension is stock minus the springs and shocks. According to Moroso, I was running a spring that would not work for the weight of my truck. But, according to the leverage ratio and my unsprung weight, I found it to be ummm, perfect Shocks were a Comp Engineering 3-way, but even on the 70/30 setting, there was still a little too much stored energy in the front. I have switched to a Rancho 9,000x. The rear again is stock other than an adjustable lower control arm braket I made that allows you to move the mounting location, I think there are 5 holes. Also a Classic performance lowering spring, blocks and again a Comp 3-way shock. Since that outing I have: Switched to a single plain with a dominator throttle body Removed the factory bench seat for a set of light weight buckets (50lbs) Build a new front crossmember that retains the factory control arms (25lbs, but the intake/N20 plate and TB made up the difference) Cutting off the 30-40lb tow hith I once welded on it Putting a factory weight tailgate on it (had an extrat junk gate so I added about 100lbs to it) Just received a 1 piece glass front end (75 lbs vs te 240 the factory stuff weighs) Put a 4.56 gear in it Put an electric water pump on it Pray every night it goes 11.40-11.50 NA in the 1/4 and low 10's on the jug...
