I like the trim look for that year. Can't image how difficult it'd be to paint them but if you're confident and it's your truck.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Not sure whether to do paint or vinyl with the stripe...? Started color sanding the box today.. Not easy grinding the shine off fresh paint..(on the nerves like)

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Thanks... Not perfect by any means. Painted in my garage. Some dust... And my usual one small fly. Lol. Color sanding should take care of most of it.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Shinning up nice When you said you wanted a 'stripe' instead of metal trim, do you mean 1 solid white stripe? I'll take one of your latest pics and retry. You get flies, I get spiders

Thanks man! I didn't make it bleach white because the more I whitened it, the more hokey (fake) it looked.

It's perfect. Ive got it scratched up on paper... But that really gives a true visual and makes my decision. Stripes it is! Thanks again brother.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
might wanna google up 67 chevy c10 trim and look at some pictures to help you lay out and paint the stripe.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Not that it matters, but the stripe I placed is actually trim from a real truck pic.
I cut the trim off, distorted to align/fit and increased the brightness (from silver to more white). It isn't exact but did retain most of its shape.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Color sanding time.. didnt I would ever get to this point. My second windshield arrived. Yep. Second one. Broke the first one on install. Apparently the last one in Canada. This one came out of the states... commandeered some buddies with more experience with glass to help put this one in for me.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
More updates... more color sanding. Really impressed with the 3M perfect-it setup so far. Second windshield installed.(in one piece this time) Took 3 of us close to an hour.. new gasket made it an ignorant a$$ of a job.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Thanks!... I recommend 3 guys if you can round em up. Had just 2 of us the first time. It was difficult keeping pressure on the lower edge while roping it in. Cowl hood likely played a big part in that.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Thanks Mike.. a compliment from a talented builder! No turning back now... think I left my beer on the seat... damn. Will update once the tape is pulled. (Dont judge lines by yellow tape... blue 3M vinyl fineline is actual border.... cant see it)
