Re: my 50 build... why not?
Thanks!
Rear end stuff came back from coating. Huge rave for crosslink custom coatings here in Lincoln. It turned out great! I couldn't be any more happy with it. I have a set of tubular front control arms on order. Along with all new tie rod ends and steering everything new. Hope to come up with some extra cash quick here to get a diff ordered. Then it will be on its wheels and off to paint. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: my 50 build... why not?
nebdrummer, Great job on the rear frame section. I have a question for you and your rear sway bar. Do you of anyone that sell torsion bars that are wider than the 30" ones that the sprint car guys are using. I want to make custom front and rear sway bars for the frame that I am working on. Keep up the great job.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Thanks guys,
Shannon, thanks for the compliments, I went with competition engineerings magnum arb kit. These styles of arbs are much too stiff for use on the street as mine will only be hooked up during racing events. I will not be using the front sway bar either. Here's my kit. Bottom of page. http://www.competitionengineering.co...?catcode=13048 I'm not so sure on what is all out there for a universal sway bar though. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: my 50 build... why not?
nebdrummer, Thank you. I will check out there site. I would think somebody would make a universal sway bar kit but maybe not. Chevette said about checking out some of the NASCAR stuff on ebay also.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
true trac ordered for the 3rd member. that should be in and done next week.
I also picked up a full set of SPC control arms for the front so, with any luck, i can have this purple thing on all 4 wheels. I havent had any time to get to it in the last month and a half to block and reprime the cab. Ive been remodeling my whole basement. Thats just about to a stand still, so i should be getting back to this soon.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
I need to order so more stuff before the cab, doors and hood go off for paint. Need to make the seat brackets. A couple of braces under the dash. Lizzard skin the inside, run and plumb the brake lines.
If it actually gets above 50 this weekend, it will be on the front wheels. Still waiting for the diff to get back with the true-trac installed. Did a little sanding and buffing on the rear fenders. Note the orange peel around the light reflections. Sanded heavy 1000, light on 1500, dry 1500 on DA, then switched right to 3000 trizac. It buffed out super easy. Buffed Posted via Mobile Device

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Competition engineering is the company. I'd have to look at what exactly kit it was though. There's a LOT of measuring and a LOT of research on how to weld this in properly. If you don't plan on doing a lot of racing, then go with a made to fit 4 link kit as this is unnecessary otherwise. An improper installed 4 link can be just as dangerous as a bad set of welds. Just make sure it's the right kit for you.

Re: my 50 build... why not?
Thanks! Got a lot done on this busy weekend. Pulled some bushes out, planted a bunch of flowers for the lady, sold my 53 bel air, had a kickass show, and got the cab READY FOR PAINT!!
Everything masked up. I had just a bit of touch up to do. And sanded down again. And perfection Nice strait lines Now I need to make the seat brackets, lizard skin the inside, make a bracket from the steering column bracket on the dash to the brake booster, then plumb the brake lines, and this thing goes off for color. Re: my 50 build... why not?
Thank you guys!
Superfly, I'm sorry things haven't worked to get your cab down here. Maybe when things quit being hectic around here. Jeffrow, yes I have a 60 gallon compressor. I got it new from max tool out of California shipped for free. For the price and what it puts out in CFM, it is the best one you can get. And it's all made in the USA. It's a BelAir compressor. 19.5 CFM, dual stage compressor. It just barely keeps up running a da sander for 10 minutes straight but I'm going to be hooking up a 100 gallon helper tank just so I can work till the compressor kicks in, then when it builds up again, I should have a good 5 minutes of sanding without the pump kicking back on.
