Re: Roll call for the 66's!
Here is mine 66 383 stoker muncie 4 speed. Tubed and 295 on the rear can go way bigger. Only had it a few weeks. Siting in some ones drive way. Walk up ask about it and he just wanted to get rid of it. Still need a little work. Brakes a still sluggish and lights don't work but it would not be fun if every thing worked

Nice truck! I love the stance, wheels, and the color!
My '66 is in my avatar. Not too good with posting pics, though.

Re: Roll call for the 66's!
Long stepper. Originally came with the 327/auto. Long gone by the time I got it.
Now has a hot 250 and 5-speed. First two pics from cross-country trip right after I bought it. Third pic after I painted it.

Re: Roll call for the 66's!
This is my first post so go easy on me... I'm new to the truck world.
This is my '66 C-20 (327, auto, factory air [non-functional for now], no bed wood - wife's not happy about that one... "what do you mean you can't haul anything in the new truck??"). It's going to be a regular driver/ work truck but we'd like to keep it mostly original. My son and I are making a project of it. I'm sure I'll be asking for lots of advice when I've learned enough to ask intelligent questions. |

You may not be from Texas but it appears your truck got here as soon as it could!

Re: Roll call for the 66's!
IMHO - This was the last year before the body style started getting "sterilized".

Re: Roll call for the 66's!
New to the group. Here is my 66 named Vern. Custom Cab, big back window long box. You see it just as it came to me about two weeks ago. It was an original v8 auto now with a 283/th400. It was saved from the crusher (it was at the bone yard ready to go) about a year ago. After a quick series of owners it now is with me and my 14 year old daughter waiting to be brought back to life. No restoration just yet. Our plans are to get it back up and running as a driver for now. I just made contact with a previous owner who had it for about 20 years. I have the name of the person he bought it from and will get more details soon. I found out that it had a series of big block and was taken to the strip and rodded around Iowa for quite some time. I love just finding out the history of this truck after 48 years. I hope to find info all the way back to the dealer, original badge is still on the tailgate, "Kline Chevrolet, Belton". Not sure if they are even still in business but the search is half the fun.

The C10 emblem is in the 1965 location. Good looking truck though.

Re: Roll call for the 66's!
Here's a pic of my '66 SWB. I've had it for several years but not done much with it. Just been hangin' out here learnin' and collecting parts and pieces for future build thread on it. PO had a pretty good start. Has 5 lug conversion, PS, PB, mild 350SBC w/3spd overdrive which i plan to replace with T-5. just enjoying driving it for now.

For just being grey, your truck is pretty cool. The accents and trim, along with thoae wheels, make it look really sharp. Do you have more pics loaded up here? . I played with it and couldn't get it to go blue, so I did green. I like it.
