Re: 69 Olive Verde
Finally got it in the sun today and got a few things done. Been a little distracted building my daily.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Got the sound deadener installed and test fitted the seat frame one last time. Going to keep finding other things to do instead of wiring. Sunday I'm going to try to start installing the vintage air unit.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Got the inside of bed polished and rear chassis wiring done and one last cleaning for the first bed fit. It's just sitting there right now have to finish adjusting before bolting it down. Started fitting pedals and mapping wiring. Heck of a weekend.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Didn't work on it today but still felt rewarding to open the garage door to this.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Got cab and bed adjusted and installed some small things here and there. And working backwards on the motor, hopefully this is just a brief set back for a better finish.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Got the motor scrubbed clean along with 90% of the parts I took off the motor Friday. Hopefully if the weather is nice today I can kick the truck out of the garage and get everything painted. Then I can start installing the engine harness and mounting the computer this week.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
You're doing a fantastic job. I wish I was this far along. What is the cutout on the driver side of the cab where the back of the cab vent is? I'm thinking of sealing the cab vents in on my project and I'm repairing rot in this area right now. Leaves and rain don't equal solid sheetmetal. Also, what kind of driveshaft cross member is that? Thanks!

Re: 69 Olive Verde
The color combo will make since when finished. Still have to spray the hot rod matte clear which will really soften up the look.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Are those knock sensors and harness new??? Many have advised me to replace them IF the engine is that far tore down, of course mileage on enginewill determine that...

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Yeah knock sensor harness and sensors should be replaced with gm parts only. Have had several problems with after market parts for this. Always torque sensors to spec and use silicone around rubber boots so water and debris cant get to sensors.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Since it was a low mileage motor I'm not going to worry about them at this time.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Looking really good.
How did you line up the fuel fill door to the tank fill (to cut the hole in the right spot) and how did you fit it on the bed floor corrugations? Are there just gaps for the low areas? I am pretty close to installing mine and have been contemplating the best plan of attack.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Here's a few shots. Best picture I could get of the Boyd fuel bed fill adaptor which is a rubber hose and clamps and a real pain to install, fyi.

Yeah, i bet its a pain to connect and clamp. I hadnt considered the bed floor braces might be in the way. More fun. Thanks.

Finally got new plugs, wires, cool packs and O2 sensors installed. Just have to finish installing the throttle cable then I can get the harness installed.

Re: 69 Olive Verde
Just about got the stand alone harness complete. Have it routed and mounted computer, relays and working on battery bracket under/behind center console. Going to try installing the glass this week as well.
