Re: copperhead video tapes
Shifty - I'm not sure of the box at the moment - it's Time Warners latest (or second to latest) digital cable box - it has the DVR feature built in. I'll check it tonight. I THINK I got the final episode burnt last night but I fell asleep before I finalized the disk - we'll see what I have tonight.

Re: copperhead video tapes
When hell freezes over, sadly. They won't play it in order, b/c there were other projects in-between, you might get an episode here and there,

Hehe, I've done work on the 8300 box, and unfortunately I can't discuss that kind of info because of it.
Sorry Luv, gotta skip on that one.

Are you so depressed you are at home watching Soap Operas? For no particular reason I am going to ask the following question: If anyone has a website they can collect names etc. to distribute DVD's contact me via PM.

Re: copperhead video tapes
HA! I wondered if anyone would get that... it's just the luck I have - get a good thing and find out it's not all it's cracked up to be - just like when I was a kid - I bought the nice clean all together mini bike - my cousin bought the greasy, smokin', parts missin' heap and everyday I was working on mine, he was tearing up the place.... rant off.... kinda mild rant but eh........

Re: copperhead video tapes
I just got wind of this thread. Have arrangements been made to get the shows on DVD or VHS??? I am interested in one, if it is made available.

Re: copperhead video tapes
I guess someone needs to get Bamm to edit his first to tell everyone THIS AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.
I mean that in the nicest way possible. Read post #142 here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=142

Re: copperhead video tapes
Believe me, it's much to my chagrin, it took a decent chunk of time to sit down and edit each individual show that I contributed (which was upwards of ~7 shows)

Yes I spent countless HOURS on this, but now I don't see a way to distribute DVD's without going against Josh's wishes, and it's his board. Please don't red into this that I'm mad at Josh, because I'm not. If someone knows of a way to accomplish distributing DVD's without doing it via this board I'm all ears.

Re: copperhead video tapes
I've been watching this thread for a long time.
I'm not a copyright expert or an attorney. But I've learned a lot about it in the last couple years. Not to air dirty laundry, but here goes: We're personally caught up in a lengthy civil lawsuit right now concerning several issues, with one part of the suit concerning copyright infringement. Fortunately, we're not in the wrong side in the copyright portion of the suit. Hopefully, we're not on the wrong side in any of the rest of it, either, but court is court, and the right side doesn't always win, and when you go to court, you really end up losing, no matter how things turn out. Time, emotions, distractions from family & work, lotsa $$$ for legal fees, etc, etc. Copyright infringement is a serious business. Commercialization of copyright infringement carries with it a potential penalty of as much as $ 150,000 PER INCIDENT (which would mean per sale or per "gift" even of each copied DVD) & Oh, by the way, it's also a federal felony. Per infringement. Penalties can run into the millions of $$$$ & literally years of jail sentences. Even with the usual "settlement," it's still way-way expensive. I know people do it all the time, and the odds of getting caught seem pretty low, since there's no real "copyright police" out there, but it ain't worth the risk. Infringement is investigated by the FBI, and if you p!ss somebody off bad enough, they're who can end up looking into it. Josh is definitely right. My advice, for whatever little it's worth, is this: "Leave it alone." Last edited by 68shortstep; 04-27-2008 at 07:59 PM. Reason: spelling |

Re: copperhead video tapes
With that note, I think someone should probably lock this thread, or, better yet, to protect anyone who has stated anything that could get them in trouble up to this point, it should be moved into a moderator forum where it cannot be accessed by normal members.

Re: copperhead video tapes
well, that sux that these videos arent gonna happen. Maby we all need to get together somehow and get hold of trucks and see if we could convince them to offer this build on dvd. From what i have read here all of us are ready to pay a reasonable price for a copy of copperhead build,i am sure somewhere in their archives of trucks they have all the episodes.I dont know what else to do but if anyone has any ideas, lets see what we can do.

Re: copperhead video tapes - UPDATE
I have given this alot of thought and while I really want to get a
Copperhead project DVD set to everyone that wants one it has never been my or anyone else's intent to violate copyright law. I know that I may be able to claim that because this was a non-profit venture that technically isn't copyright infringement, but it's not worth the risk. So what I have decided to do is attempt to contact Stacy David and Trucks! and see if I can get permission to share the episodes we have gathered together. I don't expect to get permission, but just maybe it'll push them to offer a complete set of the Copperhead project to those that wish to buy. Plus you never know, they just might give permission. If anyone has contact info, please PM it to me.

I have emailed asking how one could get this entire series about two weeks ago. As of this date...no response. I agree we don't want to break any sort of laws. I would hate to see Liz and Josh behind bars? Good Luck!!!
