Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
Think I've neglected some Glen Campbell, he was so talented. Can't believe Olivia has made an appearance Who didn't have a crush on her. One of my favorite tunes is this. I used to tease my daughter because I'd put it on repeat:

and after hearing Vince play in the "Killer Guitar Player" video Emmylou Harris's "Luxury Liner" came to mind with Albert Lee's amazing hot lick pickin' guitar playing. Soooo HOT!! (Talkin' about the guitar playin', mind you )

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
I like it. That's a great version. Now that the times have passed, I love the music from each time for the memories and feelings they bring back. I have a greater appreciation than when they were current. Like I took the music for granted when I could hear it everywhere I went. Heart is so mid to late '70s. I loved that stuff.

Speaking of Heart, and earlier, Stairway To Heaven...
Late '70s makes me think of Pablo Cruise And these last two I really related to Bob Seger Doobie Brothers

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
This was Jesse Colin Young (Youngbloods) in the '70s
Did you ever listen to Sea Level in the late '70s? The name comes from Chuck Levelle, keyboard player. He was the keyboard player in that tribute to Gregg Allman concert that I played the song from with Vince Gill. Google his name. You will see you have heard his playing before.

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
How about a blend of old and new? I've watched this video a dozen times because it sounds so good to my ears.
And another whole set of music that I have on my spotify that if you come to my shop when I am working on my truck you may be subject to hearing: How do you get the videos to imbed in the post? I couldn't get anything but the links to attach.

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
Drop the 's' in 'https'. It's that simple.
I don't know how the two other videos, some silly "smoke" thing both times, slipped into my thread... Weird. I deleted them. It seems You Tube pasted them along with each of the two videos of my choosing. Very strange. I really Like Raspberry Smoke. I always liked Wet Willy, too. I think I put up some of their stuff along the way here. And Sam Cooke was great to hear. I love that stuff! Have you watched the documentary on Muscle Shoals. Nothing but great music came out of Fame Studios. A great movie to watch that will bring back so much of the music of that great era. And Glen Campbell was one of 'The Wrecking Crew' as well. There is also a movie on them with that same name. If you haven't seen it or haven't heard what you will learn from it, you will be quite surprised. Perhaps disappointed. This is a neat interview with Jimmy Johnson, the lead guitar player

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
The guy clapping at the beginning of that video is Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie (Keep On Smilin'). You got me looking for a song I love that Marshall Tucker did, and I love them a lot. But first maybe this one was a song for your first days after your divorce
Here's the one I was hunting Then I saw this. I want to share this one because it seems so important for people to hear the story behind the song as well as hear the first and last time Greg and Jackson did this song together. R.I.P. Gregg Allman

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
Ok, I admit it. I am truly stuck in the '70s... and I love it! It was such a great time. Why let go?? Yeah yeah, change with the times and all that. But only what you have to, and when it comes down to it, that ain't much! I never throw away a good thing. I was brought up not to waste. Thanks Mom and Dad!
This video made me bleed with nostalgia. I'd like to shake the hand of whoever put this video together. Must be some kinda genius! DANG!!!

Something rather newer that I really like and perhaps some of you will too:
Something from my younger days riding with my uncle in his 396 SS Chevelle listening to the 8 track player:

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
Yeah, his stuff is good. Very soulful.
Here is a song I hadn't thought of, or heard, for a long long time. I guess I was in 9th grade when it came out. It was on the AM radio all the time. Then gone, like so many songs. 1970 This was later in Bryan Hyland's career. He began recording ten or so years earlier when he recorded a lot of hits, like... 1962 A real risque song right here. I shudder to think! 1960 He real knows how to thrill the women, ey?

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
I'm hit and miss country. Some, primarily old stuff is nice. It's easy to appreciate the lifestyle too.
This tune always reminds me of the 71 Cadillac my step-father often lent me. It was generally in the cassette deck. He was a tuff old cowboy. My friends hated him until they got to know him, which was more in-line with respect. How my mother ended up with a Cowboy is beyond me, but okay. He had a nice piece of property on the river, a boarding ranch, which suited me fine. Something about bailing hay and breaking troughs in a 56 Chevy flatbed over 70 acres in a dead winter morning will change you, dog recommended. Picture what that Chevy looked like, same everything. 1st gear gets you about 1.5 MPH. It was awesome in the snow.

Re: Nudder Music Thread: 67-72 Music
My first live concert was Charlie Rich about 1975 or 1976. My dad took me and I remember Charlie playing the piano and singing. My dad's influence got me an eternal affinity for Creedence Clearwater Revival, Don Williams, the Eagles, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and a ton of other artists from the 1970's.
I don't know where or when I started listening to Motown music but I love so much of it. For a blend of musical talents it doesn't get much better than this: Haven't seen these guys mentioned but man they had some hits:
