Yeah definitely not giving up. Getting to that point now of wanting to hear it run for the first time.

Re: 1948 Chevy project
I mounted my LS on stock frame 5" off frame. Kept the stock truck oil pan and gave nice clearance for headers. Trans tunnel was minimal.

Re: 1948 Chevy project
Putting on motor parts. New ICT kit for moving the compressor in away from inner fender and also the ICT kit to relocate alternator down and give me more space between motor and radiator. Should work out great.

Also went with different steering wheel. Starting to look more and more like a truck every day.

Re: 1948 Chevy project
Just wanted to say great work, and thanks again for the detailed photos of the steering setup - they helped a ton on the work I did on my truck last week. Good tip on the accessory brackets too, I'll be needing those on my truck.
I see you switched to coil-overs on the front at some point. what spring rate did you end up using on the coil-overs? |

Re: 1948 Chevy project
Well still at it. Haven’t had much time but starting to make more progress. Hoping entire front and interior done in the next few weeks. Then exhaust and ready to fire it up. Really hoping to have it done by winter. Will see.

Re: 1948 Chevy project
Engine coming along. Did I mention before that aftermarket body parts really suck. Lots of work to get the front end lined up for sure.

Re: 1948 Chevy project
I wouldn’t recommend it at all. Spent a lot of $$$$ on fenders and the drivers side I had to split by the cab and add material so it would fit. Not to mention the grill won’t line up without making adjustments to both inner fenders as well as the fenders. Lots of making new holes for sure. But then again that is the custom work we all deal with. 🤦🏼*♂️

Re: 1948 Chevy project
yeah I'v spent alot of time on fenders even with patina trucks. I wanted to paint a truck a long time ago, started working on a rear fender and had 25hrs in it just to get to epoxy stage. Its a ton of work either way esp for painted trucks. Fitment takes soooo long too. I start running outta patience after a while! keep it up cause you are def about to drive that thing.
