Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
Well the driver side is going to need a little more work than the pass side did.
Nothing to bad just a few pin holes just going to take longer than i'd hoped. I almost thought about just geting rid of the fresh air vent all together but I think ill keep it. |

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
So i returned the firwall i was using for patch panels to my buddy last week thinking i would not need anything else but I did that before removing driver side cowl. Now that it looks like i need some more patches so I called my buddy and sure enough he took it to scrap. I guess ill just have to fab my own!

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
Got a call from the machine shop today and they told me that my
block was cracked. So between the crank being bad and the block being cracked it might be easier to find another complete core. Funny thing is the motor ran decent before i pulled it I guess you can never tell. |

I think you could fab one. You are obviously not a wimp to fab, but it would require tons more work. I think it will be fine with only 3 doors though. I have been silently watching this build from nearly the beginning and I love how it is coming out. On another note, I make 3d models for an outdated game called 4x4 Evo 2. I thought you would be interested in seeing my model I made of a 1966 quad cab shortbed pickup I created. Here are a few pics of it: I hope it is OK with you that I post these here. Now you have inspired me to work on another crew cab of the 68-72 gen. |

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
Not much work on the truck today I was running around getting parts.
A fellow boardmember "americanthunder" saw my post about my block being cracked so he offered up the motor he pulled out of his truck "booger" as a core. So I went and picked it up and I couldent be happier now, I have good motor to rebuild. |

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build
I also went to my buddys and cut up another cab for patch panels
and it had a nice ac dash so i grabbed that too I plan on running aftermarket ac but i want all the stock vents and controls. Also if I remove the dash it will make it alot eaiser to repair the kick panel. |
