Here are a few more pics, we'll have the finished product Monday. The new drivers door should be here by Tuesday with the tailgate hinges running boards and filler panels. Most of the truck will be in primer within the next couple of weeks. DeWayne

Do you have any more pics of how the inner fenders attach to the firewall/body?

Nice work as usual Dewayne. You probably don't have a clue what you have taught me with all your post. Thanks!

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!
I rolled the completed frame out of the shop yesterday and wrapped a trap around it. I'm bumping some final dents and prepping for paint. I hope to have it on the raod real soon. Everything takes longer that I have in mind. I'm working in my shop full time now so with any luck I'll be on track.

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!
Are you going to correct the beltline raised area also or leave it alone?

Yeah that will be corrected. The entire back of the cab is being reworked, it should be finished tomorrow. We finished the hidden latch today and fitted the tailgate. More pics tomorrow.

Are you building new pieces to weld in around the door or adding material to existing pieces?

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!
So the owner is the one who wanted a 4 bar style rearend?
For anyone else, a 4 bar is NOT a 4 link setup. The 4 bar style is a street rodder thing and a true 4 link has multiple holes in the brackets to allow for greater adjustability and you can get them with poly bushing for a softer feel and the spherical rod ends for race. www.artmorrison.com Last edited by BigDan3131; 08-07-2011 at 05:24 AM. |

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!
Looks like you shaved the drip rail.
Do the doors on these trucks leak if you dont have the rail? want to take mine off but not if its going to leak. |

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!
DeWayne, on post 158 I understand about the tipping wheel and shrinker to make the flange but how did you make the big radius? The one to match the fender side where you did the welding? Also what gauge metal did you use?

The filler panels and running boards are finished. The filler panels were way off where they meet the body line on the fender so we reworked them. We also smoothed the tailgate. I'll post more pics soon. DeWayne

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!
Nice! What do you start grinding down the welds with? Tool and grit? What then? How do you go from the spots and tacks to the finish product?

Re: Nsane 52' Chevy Truck!
The truck looks great. I enjoy checking out the vehicles in the backgrounds of the truck pics. I'd like to see some pics of those and a description of what's going on with them, even if they are not 47-59 Chevy's. The 51 Ford dually in the background looks interesting.
