i am pleased with the fit and look "

I would be pleased too if mine looked that good. That is beautiful. You are doing some very nice work on this truck.

Re: Dutch 1955 build

put on the rear bumber to see how it would hide the fuel tank

it doesnt stick out underneath so thats good
but there still is a large gap between bed and bumper
so i started on building an apron

made a template

and cut some sheet metal

then a few hours later i got this

then put in some bowtie's

Re: Dutch 1955 build

Very nice work. It looks good. I wish I would have ran a rear bumper but with my frame set up there was no good way to attach one. Keep it up.

nice work on the panel, but...
now when you go to the gravel pit and the loader operator over fills the bed it will fall on there

Re: Dutch 1955 build

The only thing about this build that sucks is that one day it will be done and then there we be no more cool pictures of the neat metal work to look at.Very nice fab work it's nice to be able to see your skills with metal, keep the photos coming.

Re: Dutch 1955 build

tonight i have been working on the tailgate
straightened it out and removed some dents and rust spots

we had bought a repro tailgate (luckily at a vendor over here and not in the usa)
but it had the chevy script pressed in diagonal
went back to to get a correct replacement
cecked out 3 other he had but all where croocked
so ended up leaving without one

also did some upgrade on the tailgate hinges because i didnt liked the stock hinges with to much play in them

I have put in 2 ball bearings (6202) and put one hollow shaft through over the full lenght
and threaded both side of the hollow shaft for two 1/2 ich bolts
with 3/8 inch thread in them for attachment to the bed

now it moves freely and has zerro play
