Re: 1954 3100 C4 Tube Chassis Build

Kinda sorry you decided to ditch the 292 but the 5.3 will be more fun. I'm building a 300 hp, 310 torque 292 for a '52 6400 I have.

You shouldn't have any trouble selling the 292 if there is a rat rod crowd in your area.

Awesome build on the frame. I have a minor mod to make to mine compared to yours. I need to extend the frame a couple feet to move the bed and axle back. Should be a cake walk after looking at this...

Re: 1954 3100 C4 Tube Chassis Build

Thanks guys, Yeah the name change threw some people off. Figured STOCKISH fit since thats how I like my trucks. And my trucks licene plate will read STOCKISH as well! fabguy, I hadnt planned on attaching the rear frame rails to the front crossmember, however, it wouldt be a bad idea, maybe a little overkill though? My plans were to end them at the firewall but nothings set in stone quite yet.

So what did you get up to on the truck this weekend? Really like the wide tires on the back. Gonna copy that.....

Didnt touch it this weekend. I took my wife to Charleston SC this weekend just to kick back and relax. It was a nice change of pace. Did you get your care package yet?

UPS ground. They guaranteed it by Friday? Hope you get it soon. Hate to have lost that stuff, that was my biggest worry.

Slight progress tonight. Made the crossmember to stiffen the chassis and mount the batwing to. Hope to be a roller tomorrow!

Here are a couple. Shows crossmember with the batwing finally bolted to something! And the ride height pretty much spot on now.

Nice. Couple more brackets and mounts and it'll be a "driver"!

Re: 1954 3100 C4 Tube Chassis Build

Thanks Matt, I got the bigger sleeves pressed into the batwing bushings today to accept the 5/8 bolts. Everything is nice and tight now. Slowly but surely.
