Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

I was your age when I got my truck. Today my son got his drivers license. It took me a long time to get it done (almost). The best advice I can give you is this... Get the truck on the road and legal ASAP (make a punch list of the things required to make it legal and make them the priority) and as long as you love it, never let it go. A year from now when you get your license you will find that it went by real fast.

A suggestion for your tailgate, find one that is junked, rusted on the bottom, whatever and cut a section from the top rail to patch yours where it's dented. It's almost impossible to fix a dent in that area. If you cant find a gate to chop, then cut the area of the dent on the inside down a couple inches so you can roll it up and hammer it back into shape, then bend it back to flat on top and weld it back in place, then bend it back down on the inside and weld the inner. Shouldn't have to cut the outside, just the inside and then up and over the top of the rail.

i agree completely, this is my goal right now... running legal driving and everything fixed then interior and engine bay look really nice (cant say show since im going to end up driving the truck practically daily) snd have it with the paint it has.
