Re: Getting Started
You may have already said this, but what accessory drive setup are you planning on running?

Re: Getting Started
Nah, I was just trying to see what everyone else is using with their dropmember... I did run across this system the other day. Quite affordable to some, and I think it looks really nice

Re: Getting Started
Actually not bad at all. Check out their website for pricing according to what items you want. Apparently they have it polished as well

Re: Getting Started
I was wondering if anyone could help me out on how I might shorten the length of my steering shaft? I have noticed many others have a shorter shaft, no pun intended.
Can I replace the shaft, or cut it and redo the spline? Neither option sounds very simple. Thanks,

Re: Getting Started
Ok, I am wondering if this U joint might solve the need for running two, rather than three?

Re: Getting Started
Here is a shot that shows my issue. I think if my shaft (out of steering column) was three inches shorter I would be able to run only two joints? Any suggestions?

Re: Getting Started
67cheby,
Your set up is ideal, but I need to figure out how to shorten the output shaft on the steering column.

Re: Getting Started
Where do you plan on mounting the fuse panel and ECM? I assume in the cab with as clean as that engine bay is going to be?

Re: Getting Started
Quote:
On the 60-66 columns the shaft is a 3/4 round shaft. We send a DD joint and have the end user grind two flats on the shaft for the DD joint. It is important to take your time to ensure a good fitment, but this provides a better union than running a shear pin. You could cut your shaft down a couple inches and do this same modification. Re: Getting Started
Nate, excellent call. I assume if I shorten it 2.5" to 3" I can get by with running only two joints. I don't have any clearance issue and I looks the cleanest in my opinion. Thanks again.
