Re: 63 stepside SWB project
Darn so how much of an adjustment is it to make it fit. Is it that bad off?

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
How about on bolt pattern. Like from front mount to front mount. I heard that the mount will line up different. Thanks Scotts62

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
Here is mine. A 62' Cab on a 63' Frame. I cut the cab mounts out of the 63 Frame and mounted them into the 62 Cab. Here are some pics. You have both Cabs there so it should be pretty self explained. You can see in the pics that the outboard mounts are the ones that were used for the 62' and the inboard ones are the relocated 63's With the bolts in. Good luck with you project.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
I can look at my book when I get to the house, and see the cab mount bolt patterns on the frames. I am going to scan all the frame demensions/Specs on 1960-1966 pickups, and post a new post for everyone to see for guidance. They have the cab demisions as well.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
502tripower this is not bad info. So this still a salvagable way to go. Yeah it is kinda hard to find a nice 63 body. Kinda rare. This body is in really good condition.
1Bad62Pro/Street if you have that info that would be great. i will probably have to do what 502Tripower did to make it work. I am going to post some pics tonight of the new cap and also some measurements. Thanks guys. it is time to get this project going again.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
The 61' Cab will go right on. You have both cabs so it should be a breeze. The cab supports are the same the only difference is the outboard location on the 60-62. Its a no brainer.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
If thats what you want to do. My 63' cab was ten times better then yours but that was also 12 years ago. I took what I wanted a scraped the rest. What I did was drill out the spot welds on the round cab mount inside the cab. Once that was off then I noticed there was a rolled tube inside the mount that would support the tourque of the cab bolt. I just cut some round tubing to do the same thing welded it all in and called it a day. If you are going to sell the rusty 63' cab by the time you cut the stuff out that you need you may find that for 300.00 you could spend your time working on your project more rewarding. JM2 cents.

Re: 63 stepside SWB project
No i was going to sell the 63 cab for cheap. maybe someone may find a need for it. I am keeping the 61 body as you will see the shape it is in.
