Re: my 48 s10 swap
All finished would be nice. The truck is still in progress. I'm getting the finals details ironed out as far as getting it running. Looks like the brake lines i wanted to order are on backorder. I need to buy some hose clamps and the fuel system is done. I have to buy about 2 feet of ground wire and wire up the battery to starter and ground. Then i will have to figure out the radiator holes, i should take pics and post them up; then radiator hoses and get another fitting for the trans cooler and it should be good to run. Anyone know how big of a trans cooler i should have for a 700R4 paired to a TBI chevy 350?

Re: my 48 s10 swap
lrall nice build thread. What kind of gauges did you use? I can't see any mfg marks on them in the pic. Also what brand wiring harness did you purchase for the cab?

If anyone has any experience with wiring up a Lokar floor shifter into a truck I could use some tips. I am a bit tripped up with that currently. I have the big stuff done but little things like power to the coil and such are holding me back. Its tough because I want it to be so clean and stock looking but I have to add a wire here and there. |

Re: my 48 s10 swap
Back from the dead.....I won't post up pics or vids till its running! I have the truck wired up to run but can't seem to get it to crank. A friend of my grandpas(hotrod wiring guy) is coming to help me clear things up and it *should* be ready to go soon! Then its seats, driveshaft, and brakes!

Re: my 48 s10 swap
I have run into a bit of a problem...still. There is a neutral SAFETY switch and a park/neutral INDICATOR switch. 12v goes through the neutral safety switch(shifter on the floor) when key is turned to crank in park/neutral. No continuity in other gears(correct). My problem comes when the painless TBI harness wants me to wire the orange/black and black/white wire to the park/neutral indicator switch. I had these wires running to the neutral safety switch and that is WRONG. I hope we didn't fry the PCU :s Any hints/help? I am calling painless now.

Re: my 48 s10 swap
The Truck CRANKS!!!!!!!!!!! I do have a question for anyone that may know. I am obviously working on starting the engine. However I don't want to burn up the power steering pump when i start it. Does anyone know if I can loop the power steering lines off the pump? I know one side is high pressure and low pressure. Will the high pressure blow the line off the return or?

Re: my 48 s10 swap
I'll keep talking to myself :P The truck was cranking, now I am having an issue with the relay. Relay in, no cranking. Jumper wire, engine cranks. Oil pressure gauge is not working correctly, not sure what the deal is. The truck WAS cranking, but had no injector spray. Going to work with painless and figure out the cranking problem, then the gauge problem. Then the fuel problem. Then i *hope* it starts

Re: my 48 s10 swap
One of these days I'll get to that point on mine. Wish I could give you great words of wisdom, but not sure what to check. Keep trotting along with it, your doing a great job.
