Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

Sorry i haven't given you a call to check out your truck.

You can come over and slack on my truck anyday of the week.

Hit tear a part or pick and pull for your booster. I'm running a 3/4 ton on mine.

Anyway keep up the good work.

if you need any bed sheet metal, I'm tossing mine so let me know

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

Thanks. I appreciate all the support.

Capriceutah... That's cool. I would like to check out your truck When you get some time. As for the bed sides, if there not too much rust through I could use them. Thanks.

The last couple of nights I have been working on the fenders, and tonight I finished off the exhaust pipes.

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

I really need to update my thread.
So I finished my exhaust. Still need to support tailpipes. I also painted the fenders and misc. parts. I know I could make a paint booth in my garage, but I not looking for show quality. This is just a fun driver. More pics.

Exhaust. Simple and to the point.

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

I cleaned up the fender seals and put the emblems on the fenders. This is my favorite part because when you put the emblems on, most people don't realize how work much goes into a truck to get to this point. (Most of us do) this is the icing on the cake for me.

Today I put the grill and bumper on: test fit. I need a better grill shell, this one's terrible shape.

This weekend I going to try to paint the bed. There is still a lot of finish work left to do. We'll see how it goes.

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

This week I set the doors. They really need work. The drivers door is rotten in the hinges. I'm thinking of reskining the old door.

This weekend I've been mostly working on the bed. I patched the drivers side rear floor, and prepped and painted the bed.

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

Bolted the bed on tonight. Thanks jeff. Oh man that looks killer.

I forgot to flip my pic. Fix that later.

Next weekend I'll work on the hood and cowl.

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

Thanks for the support. I'm glad you like my progress so far.

This weekend I got my hood and cowl painted. Today with a little help from my wife, mounted the hood and cowl. I also spent some time working on the lights. Need so LED taillights. Put that on the list. We took a small drive around the neighborhood.

Snapped some pics. I know, I take a lot of pictures, but what is a build without pictures?

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

I did spend some time on the hood cutting and polished it. It still needs a little fitment. The silver metal flake really pops in the sun.

Re: 1971 Cheyenne "One For the Road"

Thanks Guy's. We share the same obsession.

Not much to tell on the truck. I did change the wheels to the 15'' and pull out the 'burb. Had some fun Weds night, I took the girls for a small drive were we put a stripe in the street as they called it.

My focus for the next month will be hitting shows with the suburban and then I will get back to the truck after that. Thanks for all the support.
