Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
jeph, tommorrow i also want to talk about exhaust pipe routing. I just sit my trans in place and it doesn't look like the exhaust will fit between the booster and trans.

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
I went thru this whole thread and didn't find info on bleeding the system.
with the master as low as bleeder valve is there a lot of trouble removing air? and gravity bleeding is out of the question. Just woundering about basic brake porocedure!

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
not really. Justin has been great though with numerous phone calls. He emailed me some pictures, but they were not very useful just because they didn't show the area in question. Within the next couple weeks, I will be dropping in the engine and trans which will answer a lot of questions. If there is no room for the exhaust pipe, I will see if I can exhange it for the under dash assembly.

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
Okay, here's a picture with the exhaust installed with the same pedal assembly.
This is a bad angle, but even though it is tight, there is room for the exhaust.

Is that going to get the brake fluid really hot?

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
justin/scott,
One these trucks, there is a wire going to the combination valve which activates the brake lights, correct? With the Wilwood proportioning valve, there is no wire. So what happens with the wire/how do the brake lights come on? I'm not sure what I'm talking about here, LOL!! |

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
The wire going to the proportioning valve is for the brake warning light in the dash. The brake lights in your taillights are activated by a switch that is activated by the pedal under the dash. I don't know how their product is set-up, but you will need to find a different way to activate the brake lights since you are not using the factory pedal.

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
One more thing to add to what I said
earlier. You will also have two wires coming off the pressure switch to power it up. Josh your parts you are showing above will work for your application Justin |

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
FYI, (for people like me that didn't know) the wire going to the combination valve is for a brake warning light.

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
well I finally got the engine and trans in today and I dont see how an exhaust pipe can possibly be run. These pics show a piece of 2.5" pipe sitting on the booster and electrical connector of the trans. Where that pipe sits in the pics it would be hitting the floor.
The last pic I have the pipe touching the bottom of the booster and trans pan. The way it is in this pic it is STILL below the bottom of the frame rail. I am lost for a solution. |

I've got an idea... Scott's needs to send you a call tag.
Sorry to see that this part of the project has gone so poorly.

Re: 67-72 Bolt in pedal assembly
I'm thinking about exchanging it for one of their under dash units. Maybe they can make that happen for me.
