thanks again for the words of encouragement. the shop progress is behind. my buddy wanted to paint the floor before moving all stuff in. paint was hard to find had to order and get it shipped. it did not get painted until thursday. basically truck gets worked on one day a week right now on tuesdays. this last tues we mounted pedals, then the booster/master and figured out and mounted the hydraulic clutch master. it is getting dark earlier so not much progress each day. dyeing to get my truck to the shop. i do not think of taking pics while workin on it and truck is in one car garage so taking it out to take pics not convenient. but today painted pedals and mounting brackets for rear calipers

first is the booster/master and the master cylinder for the hyraulic clutch. 2 is engine with the serpentine sstem installed. 3 is all the fatmat installed, i still have more hushmat(sucks compared to fatmat) maybe i will put on back wall of cab. 4 and 5 are pics of the exhaust. there was very little room so i did not run the flowmasters that were on the truck before. i will post more pics in a minute that show exhaust tip better, comes out right in front of the tire so should scare all the neighborhood kids

okay so today good and yet very bad. i wanted to get started on the rear brakes and tired of waiting for the shop. so obviously remove diff cover, pin and axles. removed the old backing plates so gone are the old brakes. now, ordered rear disc setup from POL and said i wanted axle bearings and seals. POL only had seals not bearings. I got bearings from Early Classic in Fresno. bearings went in they are good. Seals are not, thanks POL . Then i went to move forward and install the caliper mounts to the axle, also POL and they DO NOT FIT. I tried every possible bolt pattern and different holes. I am so pissed. I will have to return everything then go to CPP i guess. pic # 1 is another shot of the exhaust to give idea of how it looks from outside. tucked pretty high, i did not want it to be too noticeable. 2 is my main man he just turned three and thinks the truck is "cool". 3 is the eaton posi. 4 is the bearings and wrong seals. 5 is the axle housing minus the bearing and seal and i stopped taking pics when i found problems. i did make it to auto zone which had timken seals so rear end is bolted back together minus rear brakes.

so truck is getting wiring/brakeline/fuelline run. Supposed to fire it for the first time in about a week. WOOHOO. So i figured i should start looking into getting it re-registered and insured. If i want to register it in California. NEXT Year 2012 from 12-31-2011 to 12-31-2012 is $126.00 if i want to drive it now that will be $145.00 from now until 12-31-2011. AWESOME. No wonder why CA is in the crapper. i am so pissed

well i have two short videos but i cant seem to get them on here. we ran the truck for the first time on thusday night. it still has a ways to go-brakes driveshaft- but theres enough there to make it burn fuel. sounds very healthy just starter needs to get shimmed.

it is a willwood master cylinder but i just bought the hydraulic clutch kit from mcloed and that is what it came with.

What gas tank did you use? I have a 1970 C10 and am having probelms finding a gas tank that does not hang down too low... Yours looks like it fit well. Awesome looking truck! |

hatzman- i bought it from brothers trucks. if i had to do it over again i would get a different tank. i on a budget and got the one that says "Popular conversion" part GTPDS72 cost is 239.99. After i got it i found out it is just a blazer/suburban tank so the filler tube needed fabrication to work. It basically comes out of the tank and goes straight into the framerail in which i think blazer/suburban have a hole there. I welded that one up and drilled my own hole in the center and made my own bung from a harley to go in the bed floor. They are a lot but an aluminum tank is what i would do and they are basically custom made for our trucks but production now. Brothers has one # ATK6372 but cost is 469.99. hope it helps. but no my tank does not hang too low. good luck

yeah the guy that is helping me could not believe how nice for the price. good old summit, it is a summit brand serpentine kit. cost was 379.00 and it included 4 pulleys, two mounts, two belts, and all the hardware.

tim- thanks 4 checking up on me. i have been busy with work and the truck. it has made a lot of progress. i will update soon. it drove under its own power tuesday. wiring 99% done. air is fully done, clutch fully done, brakes fully done. i got windows installed yesterday and i got tires put on my rims 2 day. check back i think u guys will likey

thanks 68 tt. going to work on it 2day and hopefully get some pics on here. i am killing time as i try not to fire it up too early. it is quite loud and i think my neighbors hate it. but i get so giddy everytime i get to turn the key.

today did not go as i planned and i did not get much done. updated pic of the motor with brakes, clutch, wiring and air filter. interior as of today. i still need to do brake lights and brake switch, mount the battery box then i can mount the pass seat. and the rear meats

i knew my track bar needed final adjustment but i did not think it was that far off. when i went to mount the wheels it was about 3 inches off to the driver side so the pass rear was hard up against the inner wheel tub. adjusting it and getting it right and the bolt put bake in turned out to be another nightmare as there have been maaaany in this process. but it is adjusted and the rear end is centered and the tires fit woohoo
