Yes, the mathematical difference is that the weight of the wheel (rotational mass) is moved out 2.5" further from the center. Even if the materials are different, it does not matter in regards to rotational mass and moment of inertia. Like the engineer said, its where the weight is.

Wow this is very informative. Thanks Scott, and Tony.

I don't know any facts or anything. However, on my old 94 Sierra after we installed the 20's I did notice a difference in accelerating from a stop. It wasn't anything signicant, but just enough you could tell a difference from the stock 15" wheels with the overall height being about the same.

My Mom bought one of those brand new back in the day!!! Gave it to me but I couldn't back it back to Hickory in time to stop me dad from saling it to someone who fled the country shortly after! Truck showed up at a Garage place who contacted them and stated if they payed the storage fees they could have it back! The truck is still at this place, I think!!!
