Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
Newest revisions of one style. Note changes to front wheel well and use of more black. More to come.

Here are two more renderings from our artist working on this project. We're still refining though. But getting there......

4th Renderings of scallop truck design. White cab color was extended back onto/into the bed and shading of scallop to add depth. IT keeps getting better...

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
If you some special effexts in the scallop area, I think that would look better incorporated into the upper cab also. I like the scallops though.

we've been playing with the idea of whitewall tires on this build. Thin line or wide or none? Any comments?

Maybe wide whites on the scallop...because it fits the era of the scallops....

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
Been enjoying this build and just love the special custom touches that are present. Went back to the start of this build to refresh my memory. Now about the paint, and please don't take this the wrong way. I read this truck is ultimately for a custom motorcycle shop - to be used for hauling bikes to shows. For the paint how about some motorcycle like images or graphics??
Just a thought.... |

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
While the build is for my shop (Guilty Customs), what i've focused on is maintaining a "feel" of the truck that is "retro" but with a modern twist. Granted i could have defaulted to puting real flames, skulls, devils, women, etc, but since my brand isn't about that, it would actually go against what i've built for my company. Our philosophy (jimmy and mine) for this truck is to have a truck that is used for daily haulin, as well as go to shows with it, and if we feel like it, enter it into local shows around CA and other states. But again, this will and is a daily driver. Why build'm if ya can't drive'm!
It's great to see all the responses to our postings and getting peoples feedback and help in ideas. Keep your comments coming guys. Thanks. |

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
Update: The smoothie wheels have shipped and will be here in 7-10 days. Can't wait to see them roll in. We've also decided on tire size and brand. We're going with BF Goodrich 275/35 20 rear and 245/35 20 fronts. Should have a good stance and look. We'd played around with some thin whitewalls but just couldn't pull of the size needed. We'll post pic's of wheel/tires when everything arrives.

You might want to check this out...
It's just the first example I found, there may be better ways to do something similar and get better results.

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
hey rcrahn, we're not to paint yet...as we've been held up with fabrication issues and the wheels took way too long to get custom built. They are to be delivered this week (another try for delivery). With tires and wheels under it again, we're shooting to have cab, engine and drive train and cab back together for next phase which will be bed work (wait till ya see what's going on there too!)...unfortunately on this project we've been plagued with scheduling issues and parts not getting to us in timely manner. Jimmy is doing great fab work on this. Now we're just needing to get to the next phase!!! So stay tuned!

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
Carl,
So you guys have something special planned for the bed. Wonder what that might be? Since you are hauling custom bikes I'm going to say something to assist with load & unload. Like a hydraulic tilt bed & slide out ramp??? Imagine pulling into a show, dropping the tailgate and hitting a button to make a hydraulic assisted diamond plate deck inside the bed lift up about 12-18" and position at downward angle, next a slide out ramp (about 12" wide") appears from under the deck and extends to the ground. That would be trick! Rich |

We're stoked and excited!!

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
Here are some pic's of engine mated up to tranny Jimmy was able to get around to this week. More to come as we finally start to get this truck up as a roller. Also, the wheels came in from Billet Specialities, however, they are not at the spec's we'd thought we were getting....(aka stepped vs rolled lip)....we thought we said "rolled", so trying to work things out with them on getting correct ones. But not too confident we'll succeed.....anyway, we'll keep proceeding as steady as we can.

new wheels. Although not what we were expecting, we'll deal with what we have.....may sell them. 20" with 5" back space. 5x5.

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
I have to agree that the stepped lip ruins the look of the smooth rim.

Re: Guilty Customs teams up with WellBilt Kustoms to build a 67 C20
OARNGESI, yes we will be selling the wheels....these are custom built billet 5x5 smoothies with 5" offset. For this build we were needing no steps so we'll sell for what we have in them....hit me up at info@guiltycustoms.com for details. thanks.
