Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
I forgot to put on here, I bought 2 15x10 rallys off CL for the rear. They are brand new. He ordered them a couple of years ago and never ended up using them on his truck. They are 5" BS. So I will be running 15x8's on the front with 245/60/15's and 15x10's on the rear with 295/50/15's. I already have the tires and everything.
I ordered some argent silver from Eastwood so I am going to give all 4 wheels a fresh coat of paint and clear and then mount them up. I am really looking forward to seeing how it will look. |

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Got the rally's painted and had a buddy (Scott62) clear coat them for me. They turned out awesome. Also got the tires mounted up. Wheels are 15x10 rear with 295/50/15's and 15x8 front with 245/60/15. They both come in at about 26.5" tall. The rears look huge under the slammed back end. I couldn't get a good pic showing how wide they are, the truck is too low.
I am going to have to trim about 1/8 to 1/4 inch on the fender lips on the rear but it shouldn't be any big deal. They dont touch even with me bouncing up and down in the bed but it is too close for comfort. A little trimming and I will feel better about them. I haven't put the trim rings on yet because I have to get the wheels balanced still and I don't want to be pulling the rings on and off my new paint. Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
I think they will look good with just the caps and no trim rings...maybe some shorter valve stems though!

LOL. I had to put the long ones in for the 3" trim rings.

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
I tell you Joe, I like the rallies so much I am probably just going to run them. I was actually going to sell the Boss' but my wife talked me into keeping them. She really likes them and thinks I might change my mind one day. She is probably right.
I just dropped the coin on a Vintage Air gen IV kit this morning. Should be here by next time I am home. I am excited! |

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Had some time today so I installed the core support and mocked the front end up just to see how it would look.

Re: baclay9's 83' SWB Build
Coming along nicely man! The wheels and tires look good on there, but I am in agreement with your wife. You will probably change your mind as soon as you sold the Boss's. I know I would have.
