Hopefully I'll have it out on the street early next year. I'm still trying to figure out the OBDII connector, having problems hooking up the computer.

Yes, Warren, those are probably what I'm going to use.

I hope you figure it out. I am going to be wiring mine tomorrow. I'm not sure about how to wire for sure myself.

I take it that you cut them down 2 inches to compensate for not getting the 2 inch body drop kit when you made your order? Was there anything else in the 2 inch body drop kit that is different from the standard kit that you had/will have to modify? Thanks

I also raised the bed floor two inches, so that I wouldn't have to move the rear fenders. Here's a pic of the front of the bed.

I'll have to have a 1" piece between the lip and floor on the front of the bed.

I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to do the bed floor. I don't want the plain/very expensive typical bed floor, so who knows.

How would the ez kit have handled the bed lowering to allow for the 2 inch body drop? Different brackets or would you have had to move the fenders with their 2 inch kit? Reason i am asking is i am considering using their kit (2 inch body drop) but i dont know if it will get it low enough for what i want to achieve. Thanks

I definitely should've gotten the 2" body drop originally. The pics on his website made the non body drop kit look low, but it wasn't at all. I have a 2"/3" suspension drop on the s10 frame and it still wasn't where I wanted it to be. So we decided just to cut out the riser he had put on the body mounts.

I believe the bed mounts he uses are the same for both kits and that you have to either move the fenders or raise the bed floor. I'm not 100% sure though.

Thanks and good luck.

I'm still having trouble getting this thing to start. I think (emphasis on think) that I've gotten most of the wiring done. It turns over but doesn't want to kick off. Sounds like its not getting spark. I'll try and check it out sometime this weekend and hopefully get it running.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

I've just been tinkering around with the engine, wondering why it wouldn't start. I could smell fuel coming out of the exhaust and assumed that wasn't it. Well, once I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and got a zero I realized something was up. Turns out I had the lines going into the fuel filter backwards. Apparently the smaller diameter line on the inlet side is the inlet, not the larger diameter line which is the same size as the outlet. I assumed outlet and inlet would be the same size and the return/vapor would be smaller . . .I was wrong.

On a positive note, she sounded awesome in my garage once it finally started. I'll try and post a video later this week of it outside.

The proof!

I can't wait until my cousin comes over and makes sure I'm not going to burn/blow anything up. Then I'll bleed the brakes and try driving it around the block.

Awesome job on the motor! Congrats! Sounds great too.

You and me both today. I ran mine today and got a video too. It's taking for ever to get loaded. All us central OK boys need to organize a meet during 2012. I would like to see your project some day. Bbq can be on the menu we used to meet up occasionally.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

Thanks everybody. I've been pretty busy at work. I can't wait to bleed the brakes and fix the power steering. Then I can hopefully load her up and take her to the body shop.

Once you get your truck drivable, come by my house and rev it up or spin the tires out in the street. Maybe that will get my motivation going on mine again.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

I've got a leak where the high pressure line meets the gearbox. I tried changing the O-ring. Still leaking. I'm assuming its a bad seal between the line and the gearbox. Does this mean I need a new gearbox or a new high pressure line?

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

I'm contemplating welding in the vent in front of the window. How big of a job is that? Or did you just weld in the piece that is already there?

On another note, I got a new high pressure power steering line made, NO LEAKS so far!

Anyone that did an LS swap on this body, which throttle cable did you use? Or did you make one ( and how )?

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

My 2 cents, is I love having my vent. You'd be surprised the amount of air that comes in even with it just cracked and feels great cruising in the spring and fall, hardly a need for the a/c on.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

I unwisely mounted my computer under the vent in the cab or I wouldn't even be thinking about welding it in. It was the only place I could get it to fit with the wires reaching everywhere they needed to be.
