Re: Tami's 51 build
The universal cable i ordered was a little flimsy, so i cut a piece from an old trans am cable and used the aluminum ends from the universal i bought, took,a couple hours but doesnt kink when i bent it .

Re: Tami's 51 build
Used a 79 trans am gas pedal assembly, the brake setup is a modified pedal from a 75 ford truck, with a trans am pedal pad, custom cut and welded, def. not a bolt in!

Re: Tami's 51 build
I was like, what the hell-is he talking about!? Flat bed is a boat, and the hot rods are lawn mowers! Thats funny!

Got some glass in, what a pain in the a**,, install was easy, finding someone to cut it was crazy, took maybe 6 weeks and three diff shops.

Re: Tami's 51 build
Looks great. I'm going to attempt to install the front windshield myself soon. Its not a V-butt so hopefully I can install like I did my rear door windows.
When you have a chance let me know the prt# for the window channel to settled on. Your wife must be getting excited. Marc

Re: Tami's 51 build
Everyone said use clear silicone between the glass, in the middle, it looked like crap, so, took two hours to clean it out and went with black urethane and a little piece of t molding inside and out, i cut it from the backside of some toyota molding, i think it looks more finished....

Re: Tami's 51 build
especially on the black truck, totally agree with the black center trim. looks more purposeful vs trying to hide a seam that you can't hide.

Re: Tami's 51 build
Looks good Skip..On my 48, I had a V-butt windshield and they used clear silicone. I remember they taped the edges of the seam, filled it and wiped it and when they were done removed the tape. It left a clean line.
The black looks good though. Marc

Re: Tami's 51 build
To do it right, the wiring can take for ever to complete. I'm glad I went with less electronic gizmos on this build. My 48 was dumb. From the power cowl vent to the door poppers that also rolled down the windows by remote.
