Re: Project Pro Touring "Ole Blue"

Hi what size and thickness of tubing did you use for the rear trailing arms? Where did you get the bushing for the front of it too??

Thanks man, I'm pretty much healed up.....and my bike's almost there too A little more fab work on the bike and I'll be ready to take it apart for paint and powdercoat.....and then final assembly Once the bike's done, I'll get back to work on the truck.....I've been jonesing to work on it, but the bike is #1 priority right now.....

Great build, I'm subscribing!! Love the homemade front control arms! I've wondered if it was possible to build them instead of buying a pair and I just may try it now. Can't wait for updates! (with pics)

I crashed a bike about 5 years ago while I was in the middle of a build, so I know how you feel. I had trouble kneeling for almost a year. Halfway through that year of recovery I sold the truck and lost a lot of money, I was really disgusted because I wasn't making any progress and it was taking up space.

Here's a shot of my handy work on the old guard rail:

Good news, I started rebuilding the bike a few weeks after I wrecked (while still on crutches) and I was riding within two months.

Keep up the great work! Subscribed.

Updates? I hope to see this done some day. Isn't there like an all chevy truck meet in Kansas sometime somewhere?

I like the idea of a 7' bed.

Do you have any pics straight at the bed side like these?:

Re: Project Pro Touring "Ole Blue"

Well, here it is, my first update in quite awhile.....

I finally got my air tank finished up, still need to do brackets on the frame.....

First, a reminder of what I started with:
Name: airtank1.jpg
Views: 2984
Size: 84.7 KB

I welded the end caps on (mig with s/s wire) and made some plates out of 3/8" stainless plate for all my fittings, drilled pilot holes in the plates, welded them on, drilled and then tapped to 3/8" npt. Then made some mounting tabs, and welded those on too.

Name: airtank3.jpg
Views: 2975
Size: 90.7 KB
Name: airtank4.jpg
Views: 2973
Size: 85.6 KB

You can still see the air fitting and plugs I put in it to leak check it....only had one small leak near one of the mounting brackets, easy fix

More coming.......
