Re: Rods 57

My dad's got a '55 2dr Sedan, they are fantastic cars! he bought his in the early 70's and is still working on it lol. Thus the reason why I built a '55 pickup. Great builds!!!

hey, you also never got into what happened to the fender, did ya get the mistake resolved?

I like your truck build!

I also like your 55 sedan!

Had one (primered) when I was in high school.

I was always broke (tickets).

Re: Rods 57

i did some work this weekend. Finished my bed sides...closed the ends, new angle strips, welded the stake pockets up, removed the chain latches. also got a rear panel from a guy for $50 that had a little bit of corner damage that I repaired.

best bed assembly instructions are on the mar-k site
drill holes in bed sides and thru weld to the angle

Re: Rods 57

Looks like it might have been hit in the rear end really hard! It usually jams the bed into the rear of the cab. I had it happen to me once while I was stopped.

could have been. it looked like something was in the bed and hit the back panel and the top of the cab, but the corners were hit too so not sure.

Re: Rods 57

Finished off the back of the cab. Heard about a product called tiger hair? suppose to be great for welds to re-enforce them. has anyone used it or heard of it? I think its just like Duraglass, anybody used that? Bam?

Pictures are not great the fist makes it look like crap but the close up shows what it looks like.

Re: Rods 57

That came out real nice. I think tiger hair is filler with fiberglass strands in it.
