Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Did repaint all heater duct and cleaned out a couple on nest while I was at it. How do they find thee way in there? Here are a few pics with everything in place. seat and gauges are just resting right now. I know what seat cover I want to run but again not on the priority list, so I will steal someone else idea and cover it with a blanket to get me by.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Been raining a lot past couple days so no real progress on the truck. But got out my seat belts that I got here off a board member awhile back. They cleaned up very nice for very good driver quality. The center belt buckle is a little scratched up but will do for now.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Sorry guys I haven't posted in awhile. My wife's mother passed away over the Christmas Holidays. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about 9 years ago and has needed 24hr care for the last 4yrs. My wife's family really has a tight bond with each other and willingly sacrificed their time to ensure that she did not spend one day at a nursing home, but in the comfort of her own home. Her passing was hard on everyone but having someone you love not suffering any longer has provided closer for the family. She would have been the age of 69 the 22nd of this month.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
You are blessed with quite a family. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease and it takes a heroic effort to provide care. My prayers and sympathy to your family.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Thanks guys. It was hard on everyone but thinkfully she has a large family to distribute the time that was needed to care for her. I pray for anyone who has this terrible disease.
VA72C10, Thanks I found the markers online and could not resist. They were fairly reasonable too.... I need to find a good place to order my rubber floor mat... I am looking for one soild piece to cover from front to back.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Sorry for your family's loss.
I know LMC has the full and partial mats. Also they just came out with LED marker light that look really cool! But I know they're not always the cheapest place.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Alright guys I know it's been awhile since my last post. Been trying to find time to work on the truck. Between kids baseball and soccer along with going to a couple NASCAR races and vacation to Orlando there really hasn't been much time. But I have been still collecting parts along the way. I do have a few up dates. So, here are some pics to enjoy.
I got a new blue seat cover online so we decided to try and install it our-self. I first thought that I would just take the frame somewhere to get it sandblasted but where would be the fun in that. I figured my son needed the experience with sanding and painting. Let me tell you he hung in there but did not like it at all. We tried to put the cover on but had no luck with it, so off it went to a friend of mine that has an upholstery shop. Will post pics of it when he's finished.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
I finally got most of my suspension parts to put the 3/4 drop on. Got the front about wrapped up this weekend with all new tie rods, ball joints, brake calibers, bearings, shocks and brake lines. Whats left is to install the front sway bar, new brake booster and finishing the power steering system. Hopefully next weekend. Plus still got the rear suspension to complete. Here are a few pics. I am really happy with the stance of the front.
Also, notice this is a true example of a shape tree mechanic at work.... man I wish I had a shop to work in sometimes but the weather was very nice here this weekend.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
The sliding back glass had to go. Really in my opinion takes away the classic look of these trucks. The slider is in very good shape and works like new. So, it will be listed soon.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Unless you have A/C it could get a pretty warm down there with out the airflow. I put on in mine because I don't see A/C in the near future. The truck is looking good.

Thanks guys! And the same story is told again "If I only had more time". But if the truck was already completed what would I have to look forward to do?

Re: 71 Ol' Blue
Thanks! My brother-in-law is coming in this weekend from Atlanta so we should get alot done on the truck. Rear will be dropped, new brake system, front and rear sway bars and get some of the interior done. Maybe get my Lunati Voodoo roller rockers arms install too. Getting excited can't wait.
