Thanks. The Colors are; the gray is gun smoke metallic from Hot Rod Flatz, the blue is House of Kolors KD 3000 series. It's mixed 5 quarts of the blue KD 3005 and about 3/4 of 1 quart of the KD 3002. Along with the hardener and reducer. We mixed it 4:1:1 and it flowed out and payed done smooth. I still have about 2 quarts left. Kind of over bought. Thanks again for the words. Have a good night. Robert

Thanks, I liked the way it turned out. You never know how the colors will look when your trying to pick colors that no one else used. Have a good night. Robert.

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

Well almost all of the interior wiring is done. I still need to finish the heater motor wires and check the wiring for the wiper motor. I think I may have mixed up a couple of wires, I had to make my own harness for it. Should be a quick fix. I had the truck back a week and it seems to be going slow or no getting much done. For the past rep days I been working on the power windows and power locks and I think it took almost a total of 10 hours to get everything installed, working and the door panels. What a pain in the a$$. But everything works and it looks good. Here are a couple of pics;

Ok so there a few pictures!! I'm hoping next week to get the motor and trans in. Also I decided to move the air tank and compressor out of the cab and either in the bed or under somewhere. I'm back to work tomorrow so I most likely won't get much done this weekend. So I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks flips. I had a few (what I like to call) "outburst" while making them and while try to put them in, but everyone that seems to likes them.
Thanks again and have a good day,
Robert

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

Well I have been able to get a few things done over the past couple of days. Got the inside of the rear bed sides under coated. Put the engine and trans in yesterday while the weather was little better.

I made a mount for the air compressors, water trap and the relay. Going to mount it under the bed outside the frame rail and in front of the drivers side tire.
Kind of copied it from another members setup. (Hope he don't mind).

Going to paint it before its mounted for good.

Decided to go with a Lokar floor shifter. Got it put in, but, having a problem with the transmission hook up. The lever that connects to the trans is hitting the neutral safety, reverse light and the selector switch. So I'm going to give Lokar a call and see if they have a quick fix. Anyway here is a couple of pics;

Well that's it for now. Have good night.

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

I noticed your have AN fittings in the water pump for the heater lines. What did you use to install those? How do the factory hose connections come out?

BTW, it is looking good!

Thank you. I had to use a little cutting, prying and pulling to get the fittings out, there just pressed in. The I use a 3/8 pipe tap for the smaller hole and a 1/2 pipe tap for the larger hole. I didn't have to do any drill to the holes. The 3/8 hole was a 3/8 npt to -10 AN fitting. The 1/2 hole was a 1/2 npt to -12 AN fitting.
I just took my time tapping the holes out didn't want to take a chance of cracking and breaking the aluminum. I was harder to get the old ones out then to put the new ones in. They don't want to come out very easy.

Thanks again for the words. Have a good day,
Robert

Thanks to both of you for the nice words. It helps when I start to get frustrated and want to pull my hair out. Hope both of you have a good day. I'm hoping spring shows up so we can all open the garage doors and get some fresh air. This 37degree temps and snow is starting to suck.

Thanks again,
Robert

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

I'm getting closer. Most of the interior is done. Carpet is in, seat is in, the air tank is mounted. Still need to moun the steering wheel and the e-brake handle. The heater controls are in and the blower motor works great. Not sure on the stereo yet. I've seen people mount a 4 channel amp and some speaker and just use their I-Pod for music, may try that. Mount the shifter boot was a pain in the a**.

The drive train is 90% installed. Still need some coolant, hook up the torque converter, drive shaft and a electric fan.
The body parts went together good. So far everything is lining up. I need to paint the headlight mounts, will get that done tomorrow. Then comes the trim. Need to do a lot of polishing. Not looking forward to that. Anyway here are some more pictures:

I'm hoping to get it started by middle of next week. More to come. Have a great night.

Re: 1965 C-10 LS build

It's alive again. Pick up the drive shaft today got it installed, filled the trans with fluid, put some gas in the tank, check for leaks and it fired right up. So far everything is running great. I have to pick up a new lower steering shaft, which came in at the local speed shop, install it on Thursday and if the weather is good take it for a short ride. Hope fully after the test ride there is not much to adjust. The next part to finish is the bed. Till then here are a few pics:

Thanks laynrockers. Your build is looking good. The stance, the wheels and the entire build show some great work.
The wire grommet is from Summit. It's a Earls product.
Here is the link: http://www.summitracing.com/search?k...grommets&dds=1

Thanks again and have a good day.

Thanks Mark. I tried to keep the build simple looking. The tube that is attached to the air intake is the fresh air for the breather/pcv system. The air temp sensor is built into the MAF sensor. I think that is the tube that you are talking about. Thanks again and have a good day.
