Re: razorback red... buildup

got the bed boards in today and it took a whopping 8 hours. 120 carriage bolts later it looked great. still lack the perimeter bolts but the strips are one with the bed wood.

Wow! That's really looking nice. I like the black wood with the red paint and the shiny strips. You've got me re-thinking my wood.

kim would roll on a coat twice a day and sand with 150 on a short block the next day. i think she did that 4 times on the bottom and 6 on top. the satin black smoothed out real nice and it will touchup pretty well too.

you must be a dis-placed bulldog fan out there in gamecock territory. we just need to gang up on alabama and lsu. i'm not sure we can beatem but we play them both here at home...so theres hope, but its gonna be fun.

i think we come to your house and miss-state too. man, the sec is tough.

yeah, been here about 1 1/2 years now...still haven't been able to bring myself to really cheer for the in-state teams...and you're right, it's always good to beat up on Bama or LSU...i haven't really paid much attention yet myself, but a friend has been posting articles on Facebook where media/insiders seem to be projecting a good year for us...but like you said, the SEC is tough...it'll be interesting to see how both newbies Missouri & Texas A&M fare

Re: razorback red... buildup

saturday most of what happened was installation stuff. tail lights, back bumper, backup lights and the bumper valances all got put on out back. the park lights and hood bumpers plus hood adjustment happened up front. i put a pull type light switch in the dash where the choke cable was and it turns on the backup lights... so if you pull up behind me with your brights on. i'm gonna flash you with the backups.

today was road trip day. my buddy jeff and i drove the dually down to little rock with a very rare war-time 1942 suburban. the burb belongs to a new friend and he plans on a 4 wheel drive conversion. me, i would totally restore this one but to each his own.

trip was fun but it burned up another day i could have worked on red...

Re: razorback red... buildup

did get a little time for the side moldings on red... got the fenders and doors both done. tomorrow's a holiday and i fully intend to labor on it. with luck the bed trim will go on as smoothly and that can be checked off the list. it's really getting to be a short list...

Great 'Burb! You didn't happen to drop it off over at Southern Street Machines, did you? They have several war-time vehicles in the shop right now, definitely awesome stuff!
