Re: B's 70 2wd Blazer
Thanks for the compliments all.. It really means a lot... I can't believe it's been 3 years.
I don't know if any of you have heard of platsicdip but that's what I used on the glove box door. It's a pretty awesome product as it peels right off once your done and looks great. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: B's 70 2wd Blazer
Thanks jstplyn331. I've been driving the snot out of it lately...trying to figure out any bugs/issues. So far it's been very minimal which is awesome. I did blow an air line to my gauges (too close to the exhaust), but that was an easy fix and I didn't know the painless wiring system's electric fan wire was an open wire in the engine bay. Found the open side in the cab and plugged it in an open bay in the fuse box so now my Explorer fan kicks on like it's supposed to at temp. It hasn't been crazy hot yet here (84 yesterday), but it kept the temp nice and cool in stop and go traffic on the freeway. I still need to do a lot of cleaning and cut/buff the paint, but I'm having too much fun right now just enjoying the ride to worry about that too much.

Re: B's 70 2wd Blazer
Long time no update. Not much has gone on other than chasing down some electrical issues I caused myself I'm pretty sure. I seem to have gotten them fixed and replaced my alt with a nice PowerMaster one. The latest real update is I quickly sprayed the top with some rattle can satin black to make sure I liked the color and tossed it on. I think it's a go...what do you guys think? I'm going to still spray it with Al's liners for a more finished look, these pics do the "paint job" on the top a lot more justice than it deserves.

Glad to know you guys agree! What about the inside? It's white right now, but I was thinking about spraying that black too...opinions?

Re: B's 70 2wd Blazer
how about a lighter grey color for the inside like your seat center panel? would match and help keep the inside from being realy dark. she sure is looking Sharp!!!

Re: B's 70 2wd Blazer
Great idea fxdxharley! I'll definitely give that a shot! I appreciate the kind words too.
Not much left really on her to call it "complete". The short list is: 1. Hidden gas cap (going behind the driver tail light) 2. Subwoofer box/Rear panels (I want to tie these 2 together, but need the subs 1st) 3. Cam swap (I'm just tired of turning down the radio to see if it's still running...lol) After that, it's HUGE list of wishes and wants like a set of modified front wheel wells, a mild drop member (front and rear), new wheels, new headlights, fesler tail lights, new steering column, vintage air, power windows...you know...all the things I can't afford...

Re: B's 70 2wd Blazer
The top looks good, but needs to go. You live in Cali brother, no need for a top. Let me know if you need help with your electrical gremlins. I can stop by after the kids are put to bed.

Re: B's 70 2wd Blazer
Man homi, you know, I've owned it a little over 3 years and this is time I've ever had the top on while driving it. It's definitely not the same...especially with it's still damn 86 degrees in late October. I need to get a hoist set up in my garage like you so I can pull it off and it not be in the way.
I appreciate the offer too, but fortunately I got them all squared away now! Don't know if it was some type of short, pinched wire or even a ground issue. I re-wired the entire under dash section and replaced my alt so it's all good! I still have some engine issues to work out, but it's more about getting the $ for the cam/lifter swap. The secondary float keeps sticking open on my carb too. I'm considering going the Edelbrock/AFB route and getting rid of the Holley. It's the 1st carb I've ever driven with a vacuum secondary and while I like the gas mileage, the sencondaries only open at WOT for about 500 RPMS before the tranny shifts to the next gear...kinda annoying.
