Re: my "71 C10 project
I finished my grill surround today. Well I got the paint on. After getting the bashed corners back where they should be I put down some epoxy primer, wet sanded and put on some Krylon Dull Aluminum. We see how it looks after a little more wet sanding and some clear.

Re: my "71 C10 project
Nice to see the finishing touches on your bed sides, they are turning out perfect. I'm just on the second coat of body fill trying to get the same done to mine. But it looks like you like body work more than me LOL..

Re: my "71 C10 project
It's been a bit since I posted on here. I had a job change so that has kept me very busy. At this time I am in the midst of wet sanding all of my panels and details. I will be pulling it apart soon to prep for paint. So many details at this stage. My plan is to be in paint by the end of March and reassembled by the end of April. Keeping my fingers crossed...it's hard to sand like that

Re: my "71 C10 project
My version of an awesome evening...Front fender pulled and on a stand, detailing the back of it prepping for paint, favorite cold beverage" on the bench and good ol rock-n-roll tunes on the stereo. Awwwe...truck therapy. Yup, it's like that...

Re: my "71 C10 project
I just started following your build, In the beginning I said "oh no, dont cut that bed--sell it" But--man you did a great job with it. Im really impressed with your decision to "get it right" on the body work. We see way too many that look "almost" right.
Congrats. on the way Its turning out!!

Re: my "71 C10 project
Portland Roadster Show this weekend, Chevy Metal One Year Anniversary Bash in Vancouver the following Saturday and then the Portland Swap meet the weekend after that...and I need to get my truck to paint the week after all that so I can reassemble by the end of April. I need 30 hour days for the next couple of months...

Re: my "71 C10 project
So about the time you think you are close to paint you find the details really slow things down. Everyone keeps saying...take your time, it will be worth it. Grrrrr, I want paint! Last fender and door. The end is in sight now. Hope to paint and have it back together by the end of May...just in time for some summer cruizin!
