Chevette,
Thinking of my next project dad's 38.
Could I get the measurement from arm bolt to arm bolt on th rear cradle?
Then the measurement from out side to out side of tire?
Then the offset of the rims you have? 19x12's right?

Hey, how's it going? My wheels are 19" X 12" the tires are 325/30/19 and my wheel backspace is 8.0" offset is 4.0". See pic for the other measurements.
Hope this helps. If the track is too wide for you, have a look at the Cadillac. It's very similar to the Corvette (in fact it's built in the Corvette plant). I don't know the spec's on the Caddy, but it might be narrower. Anyway, good luck.

Nice work. I'll be waiting to see where this build goes. Real "out of the box thinking" here

Re: 56 step/C5/C6 Z06 BBC

Sorry for being a pain But DAD and I have another measurement question.
What is the height difference between the cradle mounts(front to rear)?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

With the cross member sitting level, front to back (at the base) there is a 2" difference at the mounting surface(front being 2" lower than the back). I have mine set up so the intake manifold will sit level when the engine is attached to the bell housing/torque tube, as I'm not using an LS. I assume you can change the angle of the torque tube to level when using an LS with a level manifold.

It should be noted that I have changed the angle of the cross member since that pic was taken.

Re: 56 step/C5/C6 Z06 BBC

Finding the time and enthusiasm has been a struggle lately. I did manage to get the radiator mounted and the fit is good. It's almost time to disassemble the chassis and get it coated.

It's from one of Jimmy Johnson's race cars, but it was never used. It is very high capacity. How's the hot rod coming along?
