Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
Been working on getting the steering linkage, column and the pedals situated correctly. Making some progress though. We got the rest of the steering linkage parts ordered so can't wait to get it done.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
The column is really nice. It has the ignition and tilt. It's from ididit. Who new i would have a small fortune in the column, floor mount, column drop, and the low profile steering wheel adaptor. It gives me heartburn every time I think about it. Lol. I do love the look though.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
I finally got my steering column exactly where I need it. I also have my pedals all set. I had to cut down the brake pedal arm to get it where I want. My tilt column works great with my steering wheel.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
Thanks for the comments. That's the matching steering wheel that goes with my wheels from race line. I like the way it looks as well.

Hey murd969, did you go with the Ididit TF Retro Fit column or their Universal? Mind sharing P/N's of column and drop? Thanks, Jim

I believe it's the universal column. I will post the info with part numbers tonight for you.

I used all Ididit parts. The column is 33" long. The column is chrome and everything else is polished aluminum.

Good looking truck. Do you have pictures of the front Shockwave mounting brackets. I'm trying to design some for my suburban and I'm looking for ideas. Thanks

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
Ride tech makes a bottom bracket that's specific for the C4 suspension. That's what in using for my lower brackets. There's two holes that are already in the lower control arm. That's where these bolt in. All you need to do is make custom top mounts for the bag and you're good to go. That's what I did. If you need the part number for the bottom brackets let me know.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
The Ride Tech P/N 90000287 I have them for my build. I haven't broken down the transverse spring, getting the spring out of the way to see how they attach. My first view has me questioning whether they are needed or need to be modified. I talked to Josh at Ride Tech, asking for a photo or something that clearly showed how to attach these brackets on the C-4 LCA, no response yet. That was three days ago. FYI My project is a 57 GMC with a 1996 C-4 both front and rear. I'm still in the planning stages, trying to make good decisions prior to the start. to avoid do overs as much as is possible.
Good luck Nut Case

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
It's been a while since I've posted anything but we've been busy. It took us a little bit of time to get the design down for the bed floor and the hinge setup. Finally we reached a design that everyone was happy with. We had to do a lot of custom fab work on this and it's starting to take shape.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
We're also changing up the bed sides so instead of using the angle bed strips we welded in some trim pieces that will be smoothed in. Once they're done it should look pretty nice.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
We finally have a functioning raised bed floor. We got the hinge setup in place the the bed floor can raise almost 90 degrees without hitting anything. We still need to add the latch and the gas struts.
