Looks great still.
Does it have shorter tires on it now?

Re: 1967 Stepside Tangelo AKA Shorty Doo Wop

Wasn't in love with the "buffed out" look...maybe its because I wanted the truck to look more like the owner...flat and weathered. Who knows, either way I took 3M Scotch Brite and lightly sanded a layer off bringing through some of the primer then a once over with some triple zero steel wool to get that right sheen.

Re: 1967 Stepside Tangelo AKA Shorty Doo Wop

I was a little too optimistic with the big meats on the front and rear. The rear tires were burning through the bed walls and the the fronts killed the fresh paint on the fender wells. So I pushed the 25545R20's to the rear and placed a set of 24535ZR20's in the front. ZERO bottom out with the lower profiles and a real smoove ride!

Re: 1967 Stepside Tangelo AKA Shorty Doo Wop

Engine compartment got a little adjustment also. The Z28 dual snorkel air cleaner was just not working for me. I thought it needed something to fill out the compartment better and create a little more truck look. So I dug around United Auto Parts and came up with what I believe is a 7.3 Diesel air cleaner. Some slight modification, a lot of sanding and a squirt of Eastwood Underhood Black made all the difference to me.

Yezzi made a comment that stuck with me..."truck sounds like a Chevelle" I thought he was right. Plus there was too much black under the hood so I located a set of early 70's NOS aluminum VC's that just looked too cool and again created a little more interest. (some who say why chevelle and others who say why chevelle) I found that doing things that make people cringe is more fun than doing what they expect. Hope you enjoy

Re: 1967 Stepside Tangelo AKA Shorty Doo Wop

Then finally (I think) the interior. Tore out the old dash pad and bolted in a new one from LMC. Painted the door panels white and installed a new set of arm rests from LMC. Picked up a refinished white steering wheel at my last trip to Pomona Swap Meet and put that baby on. Had John's Custom Upholstery in Phoenix sew up a black and white houndstooth seat. By having one made I was able to use a flat black leather like vinyl instead of the standard shiney stuff.

Finally, I pulled floor mat, cluster and dash knobs off for a nice cleaning and polishing.

Oops.
I was looking at the rear window in relationship to the seat back.
Forgot it had the small rear window,...

Mirrors came with the truck. Kinda cool and they are installed nicely almost like the dealer would have done it.
