Found the right fiber gasket material at the True Value hardware store beside my house. The napa it shares a building with didn't have anything in stock so I figured I would poke my head in to see if the hardware store carried anything. Got a small roll of 1/32nd fiber gasket material with chemical treatment to withstand oil and gas. Got my gaskets cut out and Now I am fighting with needle bearings today...

Got my solenoid cleaned up and tested yesterday.... it works!!! So happy I dont have to buy a new one...those jokers ain't cheap!

Finished up the Rustoleum Rebuild on my trans....Now to get it in the truck! Hopefully this one works out good. Still trying to figure out what I want to do with all the spare OD parts I've got laying around now.

Trans came out great....and I'd hang on to the spare parts. Hopefully you never need them, but better to have them if you do.
And glad you were able to find sheet gasket!!

Drove The Egg Hauler to a local monthly cruise in last night. I've been having some clutch/column shifter interference lately and the problem finally worked itself into a need-to-fix situation about a mile from the show. Somehow my clutch pivot bar had worked itself out of the frame mount so it was hitting my shifter rod when engaged, and it finally worked out far enough to where the clutch was no longer disengaging when the pedal was pressed. Thirty minutes in a bowling alley parking lot on my back in the blazing heat and I had it back in place and secured.
Truck had a v8 in it when I first go it. Are the pivots different from a V8 to an L6? Had a great time at the show though. Another guy had a slick 64-66 stepside with porterbuild goodies that he built for his parents, and I met local forum member ChuckDriver who has a really sweet 57 big back window truck. |

The local street rod club puts it on the second Saturday of the month, & the muscle car club does it the third Saturday. I usually try to make it to at least one of them each month if I can. Hey Phillip...
Glad you like the truck...I appreciate the comliments. Good thoughts on fixing the passenger fender and leaving the driver's as is. I need to hone my welding skills before I start in on that. I've got the tools...just not the skill yet I hate that I missed you the other night! Yea I was sitting with my wife (tall blonde) behind the truck along with my inlaws and some friends who came in town to visit. I will have to hit up the Sonic cruise-in. Our summer schedule has us all over the place for the next month or two, but hopefully I can slip in a weekend cruise soon. Thanks for the calendar...that's awesome to know what's going on! Jeremy |

Here she is. Drove it home yesterday. 93,000 mile 4bt with Allison trans. Not sure if I will use it in the 66 or not, but it's not off the table just yet.
