Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Thanks for the information Wade... I love the look of your truck and was thinking of setting up one the same way or maybe going with staggered 22's. But the 24's look amazing as long as they are tucked.

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
This truck is one of the best trucks on this site. Everything about it is perfect. I've seen it before on some of porterbuilts threads i believe. I'm thinking about going porterbuilt myself. Thanks for all the info about this build.

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
King Cary- Yes, I put the motor & trans back in last week. Now it's all those pesky details. Changing carpet due to installing the high hump, etc., etc. you know how it is
Original 72- thank you for the compliment. It has been on porterbuilt's Facebook and I think their site too. If you spend the money on their stuff you won't be disappointed in it or the service! Really are TOP notch. Wade |

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Thanks Eric. I'd say a 71-72 crew cab would be awesome! I know you've kicked that idea around. I love the black 72 you did. Awesome!

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Thank you Ben. Now that I'm done with that 46 I can spend somemore quality time and get it ALL back together. A complete running truck again, what a crazy idea huh? (LOL!)

No sir, I've been busy busy at work and haven't been able to touch it! I'm still working on it (or trying to). I WILL be at "Last Resort" in October one way or another. Just got some wilwood calipers and gonna be ordering a few other new parts too. Thanks BrianV, love your truck too man. New wheels look great

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Wade, sorry I hadn't replied to your message. I'm always checking the website, but I never log on. I've got my wheels and tires, but drops r us and ekstensive metal works are both booked for months. I'm tempted to try it myself!

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Nice engine 72on22's but those rear hoops are huge and looks like it would ride rough with that tiny sidewall, hope not.

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
That is always an option. With them bolted up you could take a board and get a straight edge to get a measurement from the outside of the tire to inside the bedside/wheeltub to see how many inches you need to narrow it. When you get that number add 1/2" (lol!). I used parson differential in Beaumont, Tx (409-861-4484, his name is cliff). Took a few weeks. Then you'd be on to suspension.

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Wade, what is the offset on your wheels? Mine are 4.5" backspace, .5" of wall thickness, and 10 inches of lip! Do you remember how much you cut the rear end?
Thanks |

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
My wheel is 24X14 and the backspace is 4.25". I believe I did a total of 11" (5.5" per side)

And got the motor & trans accessories to deal with. Slowly, but surely. Thanks for asking.

Your truck is xtremely clean Wade. I look at your truck image regularly ... I have always wanted to own a 71 / 72 Super Cheyenne Swb.
