Re: Project Cannonball C10
Yeah we were talking about retaking this pic and one with just the frame, wheels and motor once everything is powdercoated. Unfortunately it will be a few months before we tear it back down for paint...we've got some cool ideas to fab up "under the hood" before that

Nice touch! It's the little things and attention to detail that makes your build cool

Re: Project Cannonball C10
Great build you are doing there. I was interested in the roadster shop frame or even the front end. I love their frame but not sure if it is in the budget of just to take my frame and work it a little.
You build looks awesome and I can only imagine you are stoked about it almost being driveable. |

Re: Project Cannonball C10
Here's a Discovery reality show for you. Someone needs to cruise all of these custom shops and make a series showcasing these types of builds. An all technical show without and BS drama.
Anyone listening... Discovery, Velocity anyone...... |

Re: Project Cannonball C10
I'd love to watch that! I'm sure my fabricator would love some coverage. He's got a bunch of different, cool projects all going right now ranging from pro-touring to lead sleds. He's got a stockpile of 67-72 trucks waiting to get built too

Re: Project Cannonball C10
Just realized that I haven't mentioned our goal/deadline yet...I've signed Cannonball C10 up for the Hot Rod Power Tour 2015, so we need to have it driving before June. Starting to feel the time crunch, as it still in mid-fabrication phase.
We've come up with some pretty cool ideas to reduce front end weight which Wes is working on now. I've also talked him into doing some additional cab mods for the sound system which can be worked in as the rollcage is put together. The biggest issue is trying to keep "scope creep" to a minimum so we can get it into paint by March, assembly in April, and test drives in May before sending it to Wisconsin for the start of the tour |

Re: Project Cannonball C10
Here's some photos from last month when we were doing pedal placement. Its the small, important things like this that you take for granted when purchasing a production car
I wanted to make sure I could properly heel and toe this thing, so we measured up the pedal distances on my MINI and set it up the same way. Here is the completed throttle "bracket" that Wes came up with. Absolutely loving the detail of that! And one more obligatory photo of the truck sitting around the shop |

This month for me is focusing on the motor. I had planned to simply drop in a cam and call it a day, but my possible plans for the truck next year will require more horsepower I've spent a lot of time reading up on the LS forums to decide where to take this. I've ruled out power adders, though I love the sound of a supercharger but don't want to risk it on a stock bottom-end LS3. I'm thinking about stroking it out to 418ci, which, combined with the heads/cam/intake I have coming in, should hopefully push me over the 500rwhp number I'm looking for. |

Re: Project Cannonball C10
That's a 14-inch version of the Camaro/Corvette "Comfort Grip" wheel. I think I got mine off eBay, but googling around I found this:
