Re: 49 GMC Pickup
Thanks Jim. Its been real tough to get some time to work on it with the way I've been working. I've had maybe 2 days this month and those were Sundays. Now its getting cold and its gonna be even harder to get out and work. But Im gonna do as much as I can. I would really like to get it a complete roller with all sheet metal work done by spring.

Re: 49 GMC Pickup
Thanks 99. Im pretty proud of what I made. I wanted to make something rather than buy, and so far I have less than $20.00 in all of the materials I used. The piece of steel was given to me, and it was just been laying around. I've already used a piece of it for the seat closeouts on the 66 we've been working on. Im hoping to get to spend some time on it tomorrow. Working today and my daughters car is back in the shop so that's taking away from my stuff.

Re: 49 GMC Pickup
billy, its nice to say you build it ya know. makes it more custom or one of a kind. I HATE working on daily vehicles, mainly because of the fact that it takes away from working on cool stuff. We need 8 days a week and more hours in the day.

Re: 49 GMC Pickup
Henry, I couldn't agree more. I cant say I hate working on daily's... because I do it every day. Difference is its someone else's daily and not mine.
I got a little time in this evening. Trying to decide how I want to do the radiator support. I think I have it figured out. If the weather is as nice tomorrow as it was today, I should be able to get some stuff done. I will try to post some more pics tomorrow night.

Re: 49 GMC Pickup
I was able to get some progress made on Sunday, but have been having difficulties with Photobucket the last couple of days. I finally got the pics uploaded.
I purchased a set of 68-72 Chevelle rubber radiator cushions. There are 2 different cushions in the set and without modification the smaller ones will not work on my radiator so im considering purchasing another set of the long ones. I bent up this piece of metal to make the framework for the cushions. Then sliced it down to manageable pieces. Here they are welded in and the radiator lying in place. I still need to do the lower mount. I plan to make the lowers modular so that the radiator can be removed from there. My brother and I are going to go walk the local pick a part junkyard this coming weekend in hopes to find some pieces we can use on some of our projects. Then im hoping to get some more work done on this. I have to work Saturday so Sunday is my only day for anything else again this week.
