Just give it a skim coat of bondo to fill in the low spots then sand and re prime.

thanks guys. i will do that eventually. i think i will do it when im all done with all the repairs on the cab. and i think i will try "all metal" that stuff is pricy but worth the extra money i think. some of my friends use it

ok, so yesterday i finished up the A pillar on the pass side. it turned out really good...IMO . the outer rocker fits really good. so now im done with the front section of the passenger side. now im going to work my way back. so next i will do the middle section of the inner rocker. i am also
going to take the heater box of today and see what kind of surprises hide behind it, i will post pics when that time comes.....oh forgot to mention that the drivers door is back on and shutting with one finger again...this time i will drill a hole before i take it off...i LOVE how it shuts,...it gets you exited evrytime you shut it...nice to hear it click without binding on enything. the gaps seem pretty decent, however on the top front corner it rubs just a tiny bit, just enough to scratch the paint off,bit it dosent effect shutting at all....and that is how it was from the very beginning, it has been rubbing for years. not much you can do about it, besides these trucks came from the factory with bad gaps..

just got these headers for 40 bucks. they are in great shape with just some surface rust, im gonna sandblast them and paint them (why bother, all header paint burns off..lol, just want to start fresh i guess) i set them on the engine to see how they would look. they fit like a glove, i only needed to hammer a small (very small) spot where the engine mout is. i am very happy with them, BTW they are old hedman headers

i am shopping around for a paint gun. hopefully ill find one soon for a decent $ and then i can start painting stuff! but i cant get to ahead, first i need to sandblast the rest of the frame and de-gunk the engine, i think i will try oven cleaner that someone recommended to me.


also i worked on the inner rocker panel on the pass. side. i patched some spots on the lip part and now im ready to do the inner rocker

you can see the rust bubbling up, i put primer on that back in the summer to hold it over. nows the time to take care of it

Be careful with the oven cleaner, it will eat paint, not sire if it will eat anything else, but it does work well on grease and grime if its thin, if its thick i'd probably scrape it first.

thanks for the heads up, i will be extra careful now that you say it will eat paint, ill take the valve covers off first. i will be painting the block and getting chrome valve covers soon

i got the inner rocker panel all welded in

and a closer look at the penetration. i finally found a welding technique that i am getting great penetration and little to no pin holes

Practice makes (in my case) semi perfect! I found about 6 small pin holes in my gas filler. funny how it shows up after ya prime..Oh well
