Re: Mine and Grandpas c10
hey fellas, Haven't posted on this thread in along time. Truck is still running like a champ! i did have a mishap the other day though that will require some paint repair work. The damn shop light fell from the ceiling and landed on my hood and scratched the passenger side fender...... Now i gotta find time to get it repaired..

Re: Mine and Grandpas c10
well I wasn't able to get the damage repaired before the Lonestar Throwdown show. Did touch it up and polish it out. Wanting to get my dually all back together before i tear this one apart for repairs. But even in a rainy show it still placed top 100 out of a roughly 1500 entries. Cant complain and the little man loves getting a trophy.

Re: Mine and Grandpas c10
sure, The paint code is 512q, its a 2012 gm color. As far as the first setup on wheels they were vision legend wheels. I liked them as well but the backspacing availability on the rear was never right for what i wanted and required a spacer.

Re: Mine and Grandpas c10
well i think the time has come. Ive owned this truck for 12 years now but I think its time to let her go. I started my own shop and Im doing pretty well, but don't have much time to enjoy this thing and I'm kinda looking forward to the next build. It will always be Grandpas truck but he'd definitely understand my reasons for selling it. Growing a business is expensive! With that said here are a few parting shots!!!

Re: Mine and Grandpas c10
Don't do it! I sold my grandpa's 68 C10 when I was in the Army 23 years ago and have regretted it ever since. I'm still looking for it, maybe one day I will find it and get it back, but until then I have others to play with, but it just isn't the same.

Re: Mine and Grandpas c10
Sell something else! Keep Grandpa's truck in the family. There was a aboesec10 little guy in the pictures and you created memories for him in your garage with that truck.
Just my .02 cents. Bill

Re: Mine and Grandpas c10
Man, I hate to hear that. You were one of, if not the first on the board to do the L83 swap. You have helped many of us attempting to do the same thing. Tell us more about your shop.... are you just doing paint and body? There’s gotta be another way to finance your business. Plus, slower growth isn’t always a bad thing. Just think how much your son will love telling his buddies about how he went to shows and brought home trophies with his grandpas and dads pick up truck.
Guilt trip over. Brian
