Thanks for the support. It helps keep me motivated. Sometimes that’s harder than the actual work!

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
Since knomadd got HIS Dapper lighting headlights in I decided to dust mine off for a trial fit. Plus I’m thinking the bulbs may affect my air box construction since they stick through the core support.

White or amber halo rings.

Damn, those lights look good! I like the white halos myself, but either would look good. Do they work as turn signals too?

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
I bet they could. I didnt buy the optional controller. As they are, there are only three wires. A common ground wire, red line in for white, and yellow line to amber. Haven’t decided if I want to use the amber or not. When I ordered mine they were out of white only and Jonathan at Dapper offered me an upgrade so they could be built faster.

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
Is your MAF sensor a clamp on style that will fit between tubes, or do you have the card style? If it's the card style, how are you adding that?

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
Clamp on. It will push through the back of the enclosure I'm trying to build, and it has three little holes on the flange that I can put bolts through to attach it. I just can't figure out how to make it look good AND be functional.

Well darn. I was hoping you had the card style like I do so I could steal your idea. It'll look good when you're done.

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
I "think" Spectre makes an aluminum adapter for those style MAF sensors.

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
They do, but it's aluminum. I don't have the welding equipment or knowledge to weld aluminum. I can do stainless just fine. If I could find a stainless weld-in adapter, I'd be set.

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
That’s why I’m doing my intake in steel. I know it’s heavier but it’s what I know I can work with. My father in law is a machinist. I bet if he had a MAF pattern he could make an adapter plate to be welded onto the pipe. I wonder if there’s an eBay market for that?

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
I is dumb. Was about half done with the pipe when I realized the MAF would be pulling in air 90 degrees to itself. With a little reworking I moved it downstream into a straighter section of pipe. Should help it read airflow better. Now I can work on finishing the filter box.

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
I wanted the air box to kinda sorta match the engine covers so I built it with the same perforated stainless steel theme. I’ll paint the metal underneath black and the air box will probably be body color.

Cool build. Wish I'd have found it sooner. I've never seen a uni-body GM truck before.

Re: Mr Green Jeans - the 69 (or not) chevy, er gmc, project
I have spent a ton of time pondering mirrors. I could go on about the ones I don’t like, or are too big, or just won’t fit the door, or cost too damn much, etc. instead I will just say I have settled on the reproduction raydot mirrors found on ac cobra kit cars and vintage 60’s race cars such as Shelby mustangs and all of the old school British roadsters. I think they are a good balance of fit vs cost vs good looks. Hope you guys like them..
